>You take your leave of the two magicians before they can level even more terrible duties upon you.
>Seeing yourself out to the front gate, you retrieve Reimu's Cup from Meiling and thank her for being an effective caddy. "Eh, I don't mind every so often," says Meiling. "That tea hit the spot, thanks a bunch!"
>You trek back to the Hakurei Shrine. Along the way, you note that Letty is no longer at the S-curve in the road. Footprints suggest she went deeper into the woods.
>You return to the Hakurei Shrine, and find Reimu is working on cleaning the snow from the walk again. "Hey, Reisen," she says, not really looking up from her work.

>She nods. "Yeah, I didn't really suspect Patchouli myself. Seems like too much effort for no real gain for her."
>She listens to this theory. "Maybe. I dunno, I get the feeling they wouldn't jump without Byakuren's word a lot of the time. But I'll admit, maybe Patchouli knows them better than I do."

>"Wow, that's a mouthful," says Reimu. "You want to hook up Alice with someone? OKay. I'd suggest someone pretty smart for her. And a good conversationalist. Or take it in another direction and go totally off the wall, someone that'll surprise the hell out of her."

>You decide to compile a mental list of candidates for Alice.
>You thank Reimu. "You're welcome," she says, as she goes to put the cup away. "Just get to the bottom of this UFO thing."
>You are at the Hakurei shrine. The grounds are current covered in snow. The modest shrine looks rather attractive with its coat of snow and icicles, while the pond in the back is frozen over. Obvious exits are east and west.

>You decide to head toward Youkai Mountain. As you pass through the dense snowy forest near Hina's home, you notice that a wolf is here, watching you from a distance. You are reasonably sure it is the same wolf from before. He doesn't seem to be doing anything hostile.

> Push onward towards Youkai Mountain, but be wary of the wolf following us.

>You push onwards. Looking back, it doesn't seem like the wolf is interested in following you into kappa town.
>You pass through kappa town, pleased to find the kappa don't look away from you so much thanks to your new glasses. Soon, you pass through the town and come to the cliff regions.
>You follow a snowy road that runs along frozen river. The incline becomes more and more severe and difficult to ascend, until you come to what can be most kindly described as a gentle cliff. A waterfall feeds the river, sending up chilly mist that that you take especial pains to avoid. Though the mountain slope is rather harsh and covered with snow, you are pretty sure you can make your way up it without flying. Thankfully, someone has carved in stairs for the more severe bits. Here and there the mountainside is dotted with curious houses built on stilts; you can see a couple of tengu here and there lazing about. About halfway up slope, some distance from the road, you can see a pile of metal, much reduced in size thanks to your efforts. Far above and ahead, you can see the Moriya Shrine. Obvious exits are East and West.

>You head east.
>You are in the middle of tengu town. It is not very densely populated, compared to the previous towns you've seen, but there are a few-spire-like buildings with roosts for tengu and stairs for earthbound people. Much of the snow has been cleared away, you suspect that the persistent breeze here helped with that. To the east are the grounds of the Moriya Shrine. You see Hina near one of the buildings, looking around. Obvious exits are north, east, and west.
