>They were distinct things.
>It varies, depending on what you are trying to make. Assuming you have a blank spellcard, it would take you a couple hours to remake one of your existent spellcards or transcribe someone else's that you could conceivably use, or several days to several weeks to make an entirely new one, depending on the card's quality. Preparing a blank spellcard is a trial in and of itself.
>Put everything in our inventory that fits and is not clothing that we are currently wearing into out backpack.
>Go to Ran's House, Pick up crowbar and fishing tools.
>Go to Nitori's Warehouse, return all borrowed equipment.
>Pick up Basin, place in backpack if possible.
>Go to Scarlet Devil Mansion.
>Ask Meiling for our bag back.
>Sigh a little. That was a lot of walking/flying around.

>You place all of your items into the backpack with ease. You decide to leave you spellcards in their current place in your breast pocket, for ease of access.
>You return to Ran's house, and see that the Fishing Pole (borrowed) and Crowbar (borrowed) have been left outside the door for you. You can hear fish sizzling within through the open window; it seems they are still trying to air out the house.
>You return to Nitori's warehouse and return her things, and collect your Basin again. "Hope you got a good one!" says Nitori as she looks up from puzzling over some mechanical doodad.
>You trek back to the gates of Scarlet Devil Mansion. Meiling greets you with a grin and wordlessly hands you your Bag of Fragrant Herbs back.
