>Offhand, about what would our odds be of taking Cirno in a fight, if we had to? If only in terms of dealing with that sword, regardless of whether she's skilled with it.

Not that I'm about to endorse this, mind, but if she's stubborn enough to ignore Purvis' excellent anti-fairy tricksiness, it may not be much of a choice.
There was something here once. Wonder what...

That's one thing I've been wondering. Entertaining as this as been, why don't we just kick her ass? I mean, it's Cirno. There's never a reason NOT to kick her ass, and it can't be that hard.

>"No, I meant I'd buy you a drink or two, not fighting."

>"But that's boring," she says. "If I wanted something to drink, I could have stayed home."

>"But the offer's not gonna be around forever."

>Cirno stares at you with something between a frown and a frustrated scowl. "Why are you so... so..." Her face twitches as she grasps at words. "...so weird? You said you beat up an oni, right? So why won't you fight me? Did ya just make that up? I don't get it."

>Offhand, about what would our odds be of taking Cirno in a fight, if we had to? If only in terms of dealing with that sword, regardless of whether she's skilled with it.

>You generally wouldn't expect much serious opposition from a fairy, although her stance seems surprisingly confident. You suspect there's a good chance you're faster than her, and you're almost certainly more agile. Given the size of her weapon in relation to herself, she probably can't strike particularly quickly with it. Unless she shows un-fairy-like restraint in her fighting style, you think you could probably dance around most of her attacks. Her flight could be troublesome, but you suspect her control of her weapon would be more awkward off the ground. Worst comes to worst, you could survive a handful of direct strikes without much risk of serious injury, even though it wouldn't be at all pleasant. Cirno, on the other hand, being a fairy, could probably only take a limited amount of damage before she poofs. A well-aimed kunai throw might even be able to end the fight in a single hit.

>Produce what's left of our pie.

>You ask Cirno if she likes pie, then move to produce it. Cirno tightens her sword on you as you reach into your pack, then relaxes a little again when you withdraw only a pie, rather than, presumably, some dangerous implement. She regards the pie uncertainly.
>"If I swung at you," she says, frowning, "would you at least fight back?"

>Take off a corner and sample it.

>You take off a corner of the pie and have a taste. You can't say you've ever eaten pastry at swordpoint before but the pie, for its part, remains as delicious as ever, atmosphere notwithstanding. Cirno regards the whole affair with a curious mix of incredulity, confusion, frustration, and is that just the tiniest bit of interest you see? She seems somewhat at a loss for words.

>You shrug, then start to put the pie away. Cirno watches with that same odd expression on your face until the moment you begin to actually put it back into your pack.
>"Hey, hold it!" she says, gesturing pointedly at you with her sword. Her mouth seems to be struggling to voice the rest of that thought; she just kind of grimaces at you.

So, Here we are, With a sword that can easily go through our flimsy necks at any second -
And we're eating pie. Purvis, How do you do this?

>With a note of resignation, you explain that you'll have to share the pie with some mice instead. Cirno's frown deepens.
>You move to put the pie away again.
