>"No, I meant I'd buy you a drink or two, not fighting."
>"But that's boring," she says. "If I wanted something to drink, I could have stayed home."
>"But the offer's not gonna be around forever."
>Cirno stares at you with something between a frown and a frustrated scowl. "Why are you so... so..." Her face twitches as she grasps at words. "...so
weird? You said you beat up an oni, right? So why won't you fight me? Did ya just make that up? I don't get it."
>Offhand, about what would our odds be of taking Cirno in a fight, if we had to? If only in terms of dealing with that sword, regardless of whether she's skilled with it.
>You generally wouldn't expect much serious opposition from a fairy, although her stance seems surprisingly confident. You suspect there's a good chance you're faster than her, and you're almost certainly more agile. Given the size of her weapon in relation to herself, she probably can't strike particularly quickly with it. Unless she shows un-fairy-like restraint in her fighting style, you think you could probably dance around most of her attacks. Her flight could be troublesome, but you suspect her control of her weapon would be more awkward off the ground. Worst comes to worst, you could survive a handful of direct strikes without much risk of serious injury, even though it wouldn't be at all pleasant. Cirno, on the other hand, being a fairy, could probably only take a limited amount of damage before she poofs. A well-aimed kunai throw might even be able to end the fight in a single hit.
