SMS i think it is better the melody to be recorded first becuase i am not quite sure for how long i am going to keep a riff and then change to the chorus(Or sth like that)
Also as you are the manager/projecl leader plz choose a song , i feel kind of a lot of responsibility :P

btw the above records were just for fun and ideas. I will try to rec a better quality  and a proper 3 min song preperly structured. Should i rec with drum machine for now or leave it out?

Use a metronome to help you keep beat. Yeah, doing practice recordings are fine.

I'm currently trying to compose a riff into tab so I can play it several times. I'll do several others, each with chorus and maybe outros.

Arrange-wise, I was thinking either Septette for the Dead Princess, Phantom Ensemble, or Forsaken Doll.

We'll do Phantom Ensemble because right now I just got some of the main theme down.

I'll see what I can do with bass you gave me. And maybe incorporate my riff into it.

I wanted maybe some cover suggestions, besides the ones I listed on the main page. For this, I seriously want feedback from more than one member, please.

Tested what I had of Phantom Ensemble with my guitar.

It was a pain in the ass trying to get it right each time.

"Phantom Ensemble" is a great song! I could make sheets for everybody who's participating though I'm a bit slow...

Should I upload my stuff too? o.o

You can upload your stuff.

Sheets are alright to make, I just need the basic line and the lead. Then from there I want to add stuff on to it that is melodic to the line.

EDIT: I also caught hearing some of the acoustic guitar in the opening. I just can't seem to figure it out.

Sheets would help, though worst to worst I can pick up a thing by ear.

Well, I swung by the IRC channel for this project and noone was there =/ If this is a dead project, id be very interested in seeing it revived. Heres another sample ive been working on with some more finger style stuff and the next part of the song.

Theres another guy ive worked with alot who I dont believe is a member of this forum, but if you'd like me to contact him, he could throw a bass line on top of anything we give him within a couple of days.

Ive never done jazz before, so im not sure how to model my amp for a lead guitar. Heres a sample of an improv line over a phantom ensemble rhythm part though, so if ya have any pointers as to which knobs to turn, lemme know xD

Well no problem with your playin, im just not quite sure where the song fits into that =p Can ya play the lead line over it so that I know where it fits in? Also, that first note is in B, but it changes from there. The lower part of that acoustic rhythm line I was playin went somthin along the lines of, B, A, A flat, G, back up to A. Dont quote me on any of this xD I dont actually know any musical theory, im just goin from what my guitar tuner tells me.

Haha ditto =p Alright, ill keep practicin on that one then. Aaaand... Im not to keen on the structure of jazz songs to be honest, but Id say we repeat that part 4 times or so then kick into the next verse. Whatcha think =O?

Haha were just workin on song structure for the moment, so no need to worry about quality or mistakes. Once we decide how the song will flow together, we can go for that perfect recording.

i am not to keen myself, i usually play rock!
Also i am not very good in structure too so dont expect miracles :P
4-5 times sound good to me, now for the next verse, hmnnn i dont have any ideas (perhaps go a bit more frenzy? or with bigger note  durations?  u seem more experienced so i will leave it to u!

Haha same here, metal is more my cup of tea XD Jazz is fine too though, I just have to kinda learn as I go along.

Alright, well we should prolly wait for some input from some of other members anyway yeah =p? I'll keep thinkin on that next verse though. Ill put up a sample if I come up with anything, so feel free to do the same~

Lets wait for other people too ,especially someone that can play the drums.

Metal you say? just put some overdrive/distortion in, and i will think of a bass line or just go for the usual root-fifth-octave combo, it works like a jewel :P
jazz with a sudden metal turn, quite the thing i must say.
And i can't record anymore is already too late here, soon the cops will arrive or the neighbors are going to shoot me with a gun!
anyway let's wait

Haha personally I think a metal bridge of some sort would be awesome, but I dunno how it would fly with everyone else XD And thats cool brah, we have those crazy fools tellin us to turn the music down around here too =p I'll hold off on messin with that next verse till tomorrow then. Catch ya later.
