Incredibly belated update, but I have finished the rough translation for all four cases!

I would like some help in spell-checking, format errors and general bug checking very soon, so if you're interested, let me know.

I'm ready for it again. Hopefully, my language skills improved since the last time and I might spot more errors now.

How goes the translation for the second game? If you still need someone for spelling/bug/format checking, I'm up for it.

Thanks for the offer. I'm taking another look at the script before I try to load it into the game. I'll send it off to anyone who's willing to help once it's ready, hopefully before the end of the month.

OK, I have a beta patch ready. The evidence and profiles haven't been translated yet, but the main story should be comprehensible to non-moonspeakers. If anyone who has the game wants to help by editing and bug catching, let me know. I just ask that you don't record videos or anything of the footage since it's nowhere near complete yet.

Yay, we're off!  :)

One thing I can say right away is that it doesn't look like switching fonts is a good idea, looks like other fonts use full character width for alphanumeric characters, which means that text starts looking very weird.

I'll report the rest through PMs like the last time.

Huh? I switched fonts? Or are you saying that changing fonts from the in-game options is a bad idea? Because the latter definitely is, rofl.

The first game had the same problem, but that's just one of the quirks of going from one language to another.

Yeah, that. I imagine it would be quite difficult to tamper with the selected font using a patch as the game picks up fonts directly from the OS, so you would have to predict how they would be called on the end system.

Ah, yeah, I guess it would do that. I'm not really sure what to do about that though. Auto-wrap isn't built into the engine so new words will get split in half if a line's too long, but I don't even know how to begin putting it in.

Seems like there's a problem with how I translated the flags in the code. I forgot they couldn't contain any spaces, so I'll probably spend tomorrow night or the night after fixing that up.

I know the thread hasn't seen a post in 5 months, but considering the question is relevant to the thread I figured I would ask Is the translation for Gyakuten Touhou 2 underway still? Or has the project been abandoned?

That being said, relating to Shin Gyakuten Touhou, in some of my spare time, I decided to port case 1 of SGT to the PyWright case maker engine.  The link to it can be found here: http://forums.court-records.net/viewtopic.php?f=36&t=30295. I didn't think it was a good idea to make a new thread for it here, but if I have to for this game, I might.

Yeah, that's cool if I can pull it off. I understand changing your PC's location settings can be a bit annoying.

As for 2, I am just about done with the final check. I'm going through it myself first before sending it to the beta testers. However, I'm going to be doing what I did with the first game before I released the patch: try to sell X number of copies. The good news is that I've already sold about 2 copies so there's progress already. I'll get some more details once I figure out how many copies of the game are still out there.

ALSO, I completely forgot the main reason why I made this post in the first place, but did anyone have the edited typewriter function that makes the scene changes go faster? I tried to figure it out myself but I have no idea where to start.

How much is a copy of the game + shipping gonna be? I'd possibly be up for purchasing a copy.

Oh, that's not bad at all. I'll send the money/shipping info via paypal in a day or two.

Edit: Well, I should probably wait until you can confirm their are copies left, shouldn't I? Provided there are, I will get one.

Yeah, there are still copies left, although I probably won't actually pick them up until I send the beta patch to my testers for a final check.

Worse comes to worse, I can always send a refund.

Well, I don't see a reason to delay and possibly forget then. Should have been sent over via payment. Eagerly awaiting the release.

You thought this was dead?

 :objection!:

I have finally sent beta patches to my testers, so I'm on the cusp of finally releasing the finished patch!

However, as I did with the first game, I want 10 people to buy copies of this game so that the original creators get SOME kind of support. The good news is that I've already sold about 5-6 copies over the past couple of years, so once I sell off these final 4 copies (and get the stupid thing done), the patch will be available to all. Only $20 USD shipped! If you're interested, PM me or post in my sale thread.

I'd like to think I had gone for longer without a post but in any case, the short answer is that Comiket happened. Pretty much all of my productive free time went towards that. Hopefully I can start getting edits to the game in this week before M3 hits but we'll see.

Oh yeah, and shoutouts to my beta testers and script-checkers: Gesh, Sahgren, and Arknarok!

Overall, I'd say the translation came out much better than my first game, due to a more thorough check and general improvements my translation/writing ability. Hope everyone enjoys it (even though it seems most have sort of forgotten about this (even though that was pretty much my fault))!

Edit: Changed title, that might help a bit on that end.

While I likely won't play through the game a third time (PW-games can't really boast with replay-value), I'm still really happy and giddy that the patch has finally been published!

I did check again out of curiosity and I do like that you also adapted the iconic exclamation bubbles for the final build. Also, good choice on the subtitle  ;).
