//Since my other two quests are progressing at the rate of a glacier, I actually have enough time to torture myself manage a 3rd quest at the same time.

//So have fun and enjoy~

//NOTE: the continuity in this quest is completely separate from that of the other two.
------------------------------------

>You are Marisa Kirisame, Gensokyo's resident Ordinary Magician, mushroom fanatic, and kleptomaniac.

>You are considered one of Gensokyo's primary incident resolvers, having had a hand in resolving every incident since the Makai Invasion that took place before the adoption of the spellcard rules. (There were a few times before that, but you don't really consider those to be incidents...) Though you still usually end up second to Reimu Hakurei, your best friend and rival incident solver.

>You live in the Forest of Magic, a hazardous place not far from the Human Village, you primarily live here to increase your magical powers, due to the atmosphere as well as the abundance of mushrooms that grow here. Due to the years you've spent here, you know this place like the back of your hand, and know exactly which parts of the forest to stay away from. You aren't the only person who lives here either. Your neighbor is Alice Margatroid, a fellow magician and daughter of Shinki, goddess of Makai. Though she's made it a point in the past that she does not like discussing her family, and the only relic from Makai she still carries with her (as far as you know) is that Grimoire of hers which she usually keeps locked closed. You've wanted to read it for a long time. Of course, Alice will never let you do that...

>You have a vast arsenal of magic at your disposal, half of it was learned from Mima, your old mentor and a vengeful spirit. She was sealed away and trapped in Reimaden, a world between Gensokyo and Makai and her old base of operations, after her last scheme went a little too far. You regret having to help Reimu seal her, and you're pretty sure Mima has been silently hating you for your betrayal ever since. If you ever got the chance, you would like to try to make amends one day, perhaps once her evil has totally drained from her... The other half of your arsenal was "Borrowed" from others and tweaked to give your own spin to it.

>Speaking of "Borrowing", you have quite a knack for it. You have a habit of "borrowing" books from Patchouli Knowledge, the librarian at the Scarlet Devil Mansion, much to her ever-increasing exasperation. Aside from books, you have amassed quite a collection of various knick-knacks and doo-dads, among other things... Some of these you obtained from Kourin, or Rinnosuke Morichika, a shopkeeper who used to work under your father. He is an old friend, and also created your weapon of choice: The Mini Hakkero, a magical reactor with many applications, but you mostly use it to fuel your "signature" spell: Love Sign ~ Master Spark.

>...

>Ring! Ring!
>You awaken to the ringing of your alarm clock, it reads 7:00 AM.
>As you reach to turn it off, you end up falling out of bed and onto the hard floor.

> "Sounds like a good time to get some mushrooms, ze.
>Inventory:
  >Trademark Marisa Outfit (equipped)
  >>Your general attire, sans hat. You sometimes don't bother taking it off before sleeping.

>The rest of the items you usually carry, your spellcards, mini hakkero, broom, and most importantly, your hat, are on the nightstand or near the bed. With the exception of the broom, that is simply leaning haphazardly against the wall on the opposite side of the room.

> Where's our pet cryptid/snek, Tsuchinoko?
>You keep him in a cage on top of a dresser in your r- Ah, it looks like he's escaped again.

>We got any plans for today or are we free?
>You actually have a to-do list you wrote last night sitting on your nightstand.

To do:
-Daily mushroom gathering
-Pay weekly visit to Patchouli
-Magic experiments
-Crash at Reimu's shrine for a bit (Maybe)

>It honestly doesn't matter what order you do these in. You only wrote them down on a piece of paper as a reminder anyway.
>Aside from that you have not much else planned for today

> Take our time to wake up properly as we stretch. Well, not like that hit didn't do the work of wake us up...
> Afterwards, examine ourselves. What are we wearing right now?
> Check usual chest growths.
> Examine surroundings of our room.
> What we did yesterday?
>You stretch and look around.
>You are currently dressed in your normal attire, minus your hat. You didn't even bother taking it off before getting to bed last night.
>Your chest is the same size it's always been... kinda average...
>Your room is still the comfy mess you know. An old bed lies along the center of the wall, and beside it is the nightstand where your alarm clock and usual equipment sits. On the other side of the bed, against the far wall, is the dresser that your pet's cage sits on. Next to that is an old mirror. Surrounding everything is a scattered mess of spellbooks and items you've "collected" over the years.

>Yesterday? Why yesterday was a pretty average day for you until later that night. Alice wanted you to help her test a doll of hers, which ended with it exploding spectacularly and you being pretty tired. You sorta crashed out on your bed not long after.

> Relationships.
>Relationships:
>>Reimu Hakurei (Best Friend/Rival): The current Hakurei Shrine Maiden, the two of you have known each other since your were children. Though you were initially enemies (You did serve Mima at the time, after all), eventually the two of you became close friends and share a friendly rivalry when it comes to resolving incidents.

>>Alice Margatroid (Friend/Neighbor): Shinki's daughter and a fellow magician who specializes in dolls and puppets. The two of you are good friends as well, though you do bicker from time to time. You suspect that she might have a bit of a crush on you, but you haven't said anything regarding your suspicion to her.

>>Your Father (It's complicated...): The owner of a second hand shop in the Human Village. You've broken off all relations with him and would rather not talk to anyone your family. It's a personal matter...

>>Rinnosuke "Kourin" Morichika (Friend): A former apprentice of your father and owner of a store called the Kourindou, which specializes in a lot of weird junk, mostly from the outside world. He created your Mini Hakkero and the two of you are on very good terms with each other. You are the only one allowed to call him by the nickname "Kourin."

>>Patchouli Knowledge ("Friend"): The Scarlet Devil Mansion's librarian. You habitually "borrow" books from her, much to her annoyance. Despite all the trouble you cause her, the two of you can still get along and cooperate if the time arises.

>>Flandre Scarlet (Friend): The younger sister of Remilia Scarlet (whom you have a rather neutral relationship with) and probably the one person at the mansion that enjoys your company the most. She can manipulate destruction, which is incredibly dangerous, though you're capable of handling it most of the time. You sometimes play with her at the mansion, but usually only if she spots you coming in or leaving...

>>Sakuya Izayoi (Friend): The chief maid of the Scarlet Devil Mansion and a time manipulating knife nut. She's helped you and Reimu solve a few incidents in the past, and during those times the two of you became more friendly.

>>Nitori Kawashiro (Friend): A Kappa engineer who you get along well with. She sometimes requests your help in testing a new invention or two.

>>Mima (Former Mentor/Presumed enemy): A vengeful spirit who was like a mother to you. She taught you a lot of the magic you know today. You eventually had to help Reimu seal her in Reimaden when her last scheme became incredibly dangerous. You suspect that she's likely bitter about your betrayal, assuming her evil hasn't completely drained away by now...

>>Tsuchinoko (Pet): A tsuchinoko you adopted as a pet because you thought he was too cute to exterminate. He usually eats a lot and sleeps a lot, but when he isn't doing either of those things he's usually escaped his cage and is wandering the house. He never seems to leave the house though, which is good.

>>Byakuren Hijiri (Friend):
>A fellow magician who became a youkai a long time ago. After the incident her followers caused trying to rescue her from Makai, the two of you became friendly with one another. She told you that if you ever had the need, her follower, Minamitsu Murasa, can take you to Makai on their flying temple/ship any time you wish. She also said that if you were ever in need, as a fellow magician, she would be happy to help you.

>Anyone not listed you either have not interacted with at all, or have a neutral relationship with them.

> Alice's tsundere levels, too?
> Alice's drug dealer levels?
>She is quite a tsundere...
>Zero. Everyone knows Eirin is the true drug dealer!

>You feel something scaly rub against your legs

> "There you are."
> Pat its head gently.
>It hisses in content as you pet it.

> How it even escapes from the cage?
> Do we always keep it in the cage, or we release him at day?
>Sometimes it just because you forgot to lock it or left the door open, other times you're completely baffled at how it managed to get out. You do know it can control plants, but you don't have any in this room.

>You take him out occasionally, but you usually keep him in his cage, considering he spends most of his time sleeping and eating.

>What exactly counts as "magic experiments"?
>Usually inventing spellcards, trying to adapt or replicate another person's spells for your own use, creating potions, tinkering with the Mini Hakkero, miscellaneous magic things... stuff like that.

>What was Alice's doll supposed to do?
>She called it "Goliath Doll Mk. II" it was a battle-ready doll that seems to be an attempt to make her dolls larger.
>It actually put up a pretty tough fight, but in the end it exploded spectacularly. You didn't cause the explosion either, it just kinda detonated randomly on its own.

>Grab our stuff.
>You grab your things from the nightstand.
>Obtained:

  >Trademark Marisa Hat
  >>Your hat. Very important!

  >Mini Hakkero
  >>A portable magic reactor that can generate a ton of power.
  >>Required for your more advanced spellcards.

  >?1500
  >>Cash on hand.

  >Spellcards:
  >>Love Sign ~ Master Spark*
  >>>Your signature spellcard (though it is based on a technique used by Yuuka Kazami). It literally fires a giant laser at your opponent, with some stars thrown in to make it harder to dodge.

  >>Love Sign ~ Non-directional Laser
  >>>A technique borrowed from one of Patchouli's non-spells, two opposing laser arrays sweep in circles around you, while rotating streams of stars are fired between them

  >>Magic Sign ~ Stardust Reverie
  >>>A spell where seven streams of stars are fired around you, before firing dense bursts, forcing the opponent to remain within a certain distance of you while dodging the less dense stars within the circle.
  >>>The precursor to this spell, as well as a lot of your star magic, was learned from Mima.

  >>Comet ~ Blazing Star*
  >>>An attack where you charge at the opponent several times, using your Hakkero as a thruster.

  >>Ritual Sign ~ Orreries Sun
  >>>Another spell carried over from Mima. In this card you call upon Mima's orrery and use it to attack.

  >>Magicannon ~ Final Spark*
  >>>The strongest spell in your arsenal, an enhanced version of the Master Spark, but using the full power of the Hakkero.
  >>>This spell will drain your energy and temporarily overload the Hakkero if used.

  >>(Any spellcard marked with a * requires your Mini Hakkero to use.)

>You have, but you've never gotten around to it.

>Speaking of our pet, put it back in it's cage.
>And lock it too.
>You gently pick up the tsuchinoko and place him in his cage, making sure to lock it afterwards.

> Take a shower
>You then decide to freshen up a bit before you go about your day. Leaving your room, you make your way to the bathroom.
>Your shower is old, but it will do. You begin to undress.

> Consider what to have for breakfast. What do we have in the pantry?
>Why you have food in your pantry, of course! And mushrooms, you have plenty of those. Not all of them are good for eating, though.
>You ponder what to have for breakfast, perhaps some rice and an egg or two.

> What was the most recent incident, and what was our role in it?
> That would be the incident where you, Reimu, Reisen, and Sanae had to go to the moon and stop an attack on the Lunar Capital to prevent the Lunarians from purifying Gensokyo, which was about a year ago.

> Interesting mushrooms lately?
> Did we had any customers recently?
>Mostly common mushrooms, but you've seen a few of the rarer ones around. You bet that if you go to one of the spots you haven't been to in a while, you might find something new or extremely rare.

>You have not. But that's to be expected considering your shop's remote location and general appearance.

> Do we have any clothes to wear in fhe wardrobe other than our trademark outfit?
>Why yes, you have outfits you've worn during other incidents, including the one from the Undefined Fantastic Object Incident, which both Reimu and Alice have said looks ridiculous. Sanae didn't seem to mind it, though.
>You also have some proper sleepwear. As well as more formal clothes that you would normally refrain from wearing.
