But yeah, we want to get this done as soon as possible, due to me and possibly others having other things they'll be busy with in a while.

And yeah, there is kinda a soft cap on 10 because that's a manageable size.

So, I finished up the list of all the 81 works that we are going to have to go through earlier today, and was planning to divide it into individual lists and send those out about now.

However, a few hours ago my PC decided "screw it, I'm gonna implode". Right now it looks like just a graphics card problem, but it means I need a new card to be able to work at all on my PC, until then I can only do limited stuff via a netbook.
In other words, the start of the summarizing is gonna have to be postponed until my PC is fixed, which might be as early as tomorrow if I'm lucky.

Alright everyone, my computer issues are fixed and we can start with the summarizing!
I've decided to do a bit of a new system this time by not sending all the lists individually, but post them all here.
This way, if someone is done with their list already and wants to take stuff off someone else's hands, you can just see what there is left to do and who has it and contact that person.
Or if you happen to have read a certain story already and could quickly do a summary, say so and you can take that story.
So basically, you can trade and share your workloads if necessary.

I will keep track of summaries that I have received by changing the respective links to a different color.

You should send finished summaries to me via PM, the only exception is ReedRizer, I think you can only receive PMs with less than 10 posts, not send them. But you can post your finished summaries in a post here in the thread, that works.

If you need some examples of how to do summaries, check out the Libary Catalogue here.

The standard format is:

[b]Author:[/b] author goes here
[b]Status:[/b] is it ongoing, on hiatus, or what?
[b]Genre:[/b] Primary genre, ##secondary genre-- use your best judgment on this
[b]Summary:[/b] Summary goes here

Genres currently present and used are those of Action, Adventure, Drama (includes Tragedy), Romance, Slice of Life, Comedy, Parody, Crossover, Mystery and Suspense, Poetry, Short Story Collections, and Miscellaneous and Other. We ask that you adhere to these genres in your listings as best as possible.

As for the "Status" field, here are the definitions for different statuses of a fic:

Complete: Exactly what it sounds like. Note that this is different from Ended.
Ended: When the author posts a final update, saying that "I will no longer update this". Valesta's Thought's End is a good example.
Stalled: When the writer says they're taking a break and doesn't come back to the piece for a month or longer. Note that the only thing that separates this from Ended is that they at least state their intent to return. However, if this continues for six months, it goes to Permanent Hiatus.
Incomplete: Fics with a constant rate of updating. Updating at least once a month is enough to receive this designation.
Sporadically Updated: This designation exists because of short story threads, which most writers tend to update whenever the hell they feel like it
Halted: When a fic is forcibly ended because the writer has been banned. Can and should overlap with Permanent Hiatus.
Permanent Hiatus: Should only be given to works that have not updated in six months or longer. It's a politically correct way of saying "this fic is dead".

Now you will notice that I have a lot more on my list than the others. Don't worry, I'm not trying to overachieve, I simply added all the apparent short-story threads to my list since those don't need much summarizing.

That said, here's the lists! Now go forth, and do your best to summarize those wordy foes until none remain!

We don't have a deadline, though of course we wanna finish swiftly, so work at a pace you are comfortable with.

I didn't think of that before, but that's an excellent thing to point out.

We will ship all the finished stories to KGB once we are completely done with the summaries, before merging the summaries into the respective listing.

I just finished all of mine, though there's one where I would like a second opinion on because the entire thing is in Japanese. I don't really know Japanese, no (complete) translation was ever given in the thread, and the results from Google Translate were not exactly coherent.

For the record, here's what I have:
Name: 霊夢の伝説 (The Legend of Reimu)
Author: Drake
Status: Complete
Genre: Short Story
Summary: Reimu is unhappy because she is poor. She solves her problem by stealing an old lady's bag. Note: story was written entirely in Japanese.

I felt so tempted to snark at the lack of translation in my summary.

If you already have some summaries, please post them here, otherwise we'll just go and find someone to take over the remaining fics. Is there going to be another cleanup in the near future? I admit I kind of got out of the touhou fandom for the past 4 years, but I'd be really curious to see what new stuff has popped up in the last 4 years since I entered these forums.
