So, yeah, there's our options. Sawing through the arm would be the idea with the most likely odds of success, but the most damaging and painful, while sawing through the chain would have less likely chances of success, but be less painful overall. We (think we) only have one shot at this.

>You pick up the saw. It appears to be a handheld saw. Some of teeth have been slightly dulled. There are a few small patches of corrosion along the blade. There is what appears to be dried blood on it.

I vote for trying to secure the chain as mentioned, and saw through it carefully. At worst, at least we already seem to be anesthetized.

I'm pretty uncertain about our chances of that, but I don't mind giving it a go. If all else fails, we can try chewing through our arm... as disturbing a thought as that is.

Well, we were told that it looked like we could probably make it through the chains that way, if we moved slowly. And that it seemed easier to cut through than our arm anyway, not even counting the worse consequences of succeeding at that.

Most definitely attack the chain first.

Well, since no one seems to really object...

>Straighten the chain out, search for a suitable point on it (if any of them seem potentially weaker than any other), then set it on the ground, and pin the target section firmly between our feet while leaving enough room to maneuver properly. Then take the saw and carefully saw through the chain.

>You head towards the wall again, in order to give yourself enough chain.
>You sit down, trying to pin two points of the chain down with your feet.
>This takes a while to set up properly, as you cannot really feel if you are pressing down on the chain hard enough.
>Once you feel that the chain is in place, you begin to saw.
>You take care not the break the saw as you cut through the chain.
>After what seems like an eternity of sawing, you cut your way through one of the links on the chain.
>You now have roughly half a meter of chain hanging off of your arm

>Pray that that kappa doesn't show up in the meantime...
>You don't EVER want to see that Kappa again.

>The tray would likely make a decent bludgeoning tool, as it is made of steel.
>There is no movable furniture as far as you can tell, unless you can lift the table that was in your room.

> Can we just push the fucking thing over?
>You cannot, it is attached to both the floor and the ceiling.

>Go back and get the tray. Dump the tools on the table by it.
>Return with the tray, and give the display with the control rod a firm hit with it
>You return to the room you were confined in order to collect the tray, dumping the contents and the saw on the table next to it.
>You approach the display with your control rod in it, carrying the tray firmly in both hands.
>You wind up, preparing to hit the display with full force.
>You swing.
>The display shatters, glass flying everywhere. Several pieces of glass embed themselves into your body, arms, and legs, as well as cutting your face.
>You don't feel a thing.
>Your control rod drops out of the display onto the floor.
