> "Thank you. If you could help me in...?"
>"Just take it easy, Professor."
>Yuuko opens her door to reveal a room much smaller than your own. Not to say that this room isn't rather large either.
>There are several bookshelves lining one wall. Most of them appear to be filled with textbooks and journals. Though one bookshelf looks a lot more colorful than the others.
>There is a bed in the corner of the room. The sheets have frills.
>There is a wardrobe sitting against another wall, with a cupboard beside it.

>Do we recall what that experiment we were doing before the memory loss was? Something related to that immortality project...?
>You think you were trying to build something. Or were you trying to fix it?
>Ugh, your head hurts.

>(OK, so if it turns out this is genuinely what happened and we've basically slaughtered and brutalised innocent youkai for the sake of immortality, I propose we begin a slow decline into madness. Can we really accept what we've done and stay sane?)
>Can you accept it?

> Try to remember how we met Yuuko and her sister...
>You try to recall your first encounter with Yuuko and Fuuko as you enter Yuuko's room.
>You remember seeing the duo as children frequently when you were taking your first steps into the world of science.
>They were shunned due to Yuuko's "defects", namely a missing limb and minor mental retardation.
>You had nothing to do with the pair until you found a pitiable looking Yuuko on the verge of death and cured her.
>You asked the pair if they wanted to work for you, Yuuko agreed immediately and Fuuko followed suit.
>Since then, you have been taking care of the pair, providing them work, education, and shelter.

Well, you're on point, Purv. I'm not sure I can handle this better than you.

Just gonna suggest offering to let her backstab us to help prove we're gonna be changing things. Doubt she'll have the nerve, especially with Yuuko there, but it's something concrete for her to consider. Hopefully we haven't pulled that before!

I'm torn, honestly: I really want Fuuko to take Yuuko as far away from us as she can, but having the two of them with us as we puzzle everything out would be incredibly useful, and probably keep us from going mad from the revelations.

And not going mad from the revelations means significantly lower chances of Mad Scientist Nitori losing her head and lashing out to try and destroy Gensokyo in frustration/despair/sorrow/hatred. If nothing else it would be a good idea to have someone stable around to keep us in check. Bonus points if they get to keep a gun to our head just in case, metaphorically or otherwise.

Sect, you talk like we're going to let Nitori do those things again, which we won't.

I recommend trying to convince Fuuko that we have no intention of turning back to our previous state before the explosion. I'll let Purvis handle it since Purvis is better with writing these things then I am.

Edit: Eh, while the gun to the head thing is a neat thing, I don't think we need it....

Friend-types provide psychological first aid simply by existing near us. It would be best to keep them around.

So, the next step is: how do we convince Fuuko to stay? Yuuko isn't the problem, she' s blindly on our side, no matter how much we or Fuuko try to talk her out of it. So, what can we do to convince her that staying will keep Yuuko safe, and how can we ensure that she and Yuuko benefits?

One thing I would suggest is giving her full access: files, rooms, whatever. Unfortunately, this means putting a lot of trust in someone that we can barely remember, and who blatantly doesn't trust us at all. We could also request that at least Fuuko be with us when we're researching our past, so that she can see what all's going on.

One thing I don't want to do is sleep in that room. It frightens me, and I think that sleeping in the hallway's preferable to staying in that room.

Man, I can't really think while tired like this.

Immediate full access is a bad idea, if only because it may lead to wronger conclusions. Rather, asking for their assistance in going over all the stuff in working with us to understand it would probably be very helpful.

Also of note is that "immediate full access" wouldn't be entirely useful to them, either - those files are probably encrypted so that only we can read them (easily, at least). This means that we'd be needed to read through them and give the full picture... and I'm not sure Fuuko would trust our word about what's written in them, no matter how unflattering.
