>Go give her a hand.
>"Well, maybe not. Do you have any idea what you hit?"

>She seems to have her bearings and is far enough from the water not to get swept up again
>"Must be an underground river or something," she says.

>Once Suika is secure, monitor the water to see if it continues to slow.

>It doesn't appear to be. At least not appreciably.

>"Hmmm... a pond. Suppose it's possible. There any ponds near where I'm digging?"

>Be reminded of Cirno's lake draining.

>The idea of draining a pond below does bring the Misty Lake incident to mind. Although, despite all the tremors and noise Suika was causing, you don't think there were any energy blasts involved this time.

>Recall if there were any ponds in or about Eientei, if we've been there to see.

>There was a small ornamental pond inside the garden of Eientei itself, but you can't imagine this much water could come from there.

>If we cannot: "Hey Mokou! Are there any ponds around Eientei?"

>"No water features in the whole damn forest," she replies. Place would be a lot easier to navigate if there were."

>"What?" Suika says. "You're not planning to quit that easily are you?" She seems remarkably unfazed for someone who just fell off a waterfall and is soaked in cold water. Now that you think of it, that's probably not so remarkable for an oni...
>There appear to only be two exits from the chamber. Back the way you came, and forward, along a path that curves to the right, and which seemed to be moving away from the marked location.

>"More that I'd like to leave before the chamber floods."

>"Bah," Suika says, and takes a drink. "You'll probably be dead before that happens."

>How quickly is that pit filling up?

>The pit already had a stream of sorts flowing through it. While the waterfall has swelled its flow, the channel doesn't appear to have any trouble coping with the increased volume. It simply flows along it, out of sight.

>Suika peers into the indentation she's pounded into the wall, craning her neck to see without stepping into the water.
>"Well, if we hit a river," she says, "it might already have done most of the digging for us."

>There's about 2 or 3 feet vertical clearance above the water. It should be possible to fly into it without getting soaked if you keep yourself flat.

> Fly through the tunnel, keeping yourself flat against the ceiling of it. Lets see where it leads to.
> Invite the others along too.

>You fly carefully into the tunnel, and invite the others to follow. It really does take some finesse to navigate in here, and the bottom edge of your dress ends up dipping into the water, anyway. Blasted gravity. Still, aside from that, and the occasional fleck of spray, you manage alright. The tunnel itself has a pronounced slope; Suika was clearly angling upward as she dug it. You soon reach the end of the part she created, and see the intersection with the river.
>The main flow of the river is coming from your right, where it quickly winds away from sight. The original path of the river continued to the left, but the flow there is very light, now; most of the water has diverted to the new tunnel, since its slope is much steeper.

>Head left for more breathing space.
>Wring out edge of dress.
>Check the seeking stone.

>You head to the left to put more distance between yours and the water, but while there is much less water here, the tunnel is also narrower, and there really isn't room to stand up, or even easily reach the edge of your dress to wring it out. Unless you kneel down on the wet floor, which rather defeats the purpose.

>You look at the seeking stone. It is pointing about 80 degrees to your right, currently. The path Suika was carving was heading directly for it, so both of the paths that the river follows diverge some degrees away on either side, although you can't tell where they ultimately lead.

>The path to the left seems mostly straight, and gently slopes downward. You can only see about a hundred feet or so down it, however.

>"Yeah," Mokou agrees. "Rivers don't usually flow up."
>You move a little further down the path, anyway, looking to see if turns back towards the direction you want. It doesn't appear to.

>Does it feel like we'll be safe in here while Suika does her thing?

>Honestly, in a place this closed in, cave-ins come to mind. You'd really have almost no warning or chance to get out of the way. Suika is either oblivious to this possibility, or simply unconcerned. Doesn't mean you are, though....
