For some unusual reason, when going into the End this afternoon I was first disconnected upon hitting the portal by an 'internal server error'. Afterwards, reconnecting got me to the end but there was a massive amount of lag, probably from chunk generation. Had to get out of there to patch it.

Shady and Sparda later came in to find the same issue as well as three dragons.

Deleted and regenerated the End, and got rid of EndReset. Disappointing, but I guess we'll try again when the next version comes out.

Spawn seemed to be lagging, and we think we found the cause. (xray to do it some justice)

This was about 8 slimes per level. Giant ones at that. I took the last 20-30 minutes clearing them out. Result: 266 slimeballs and 21 1/2 levels gained. :V
I figured out how to play midi in games with a different device on Win7 ^^

Good to see it back but when seen with Mt. Spudmore and Chen, it seems that spawn is turning to a sprite gallery.

A few replicas got blown up by the JOB Replica (a super-charged creeper). :V

Well, back to editing skin! ^^ and hoping my desktop doesn't nuke itself whilst repairing Win7 on it

Decided to upload my recent mischeif, Also, discuss some ideas here I have, which I've also done in pictures.

First off, importing of my house for the town... some interesting things happen when everyone gets a clientside crash!

Soonish we'll have to get some up of the battle arena, when its done / in use.

So as far as my idea goes, everyone knows gold is a shit to come by. Especially in large enough quantities to make large powered rails. Well back in the days before golden rails, all my SMP maps had large powered cart rails. They can't climb as steep, and a glitch rendered them inoperative as of 1.8. However, i decided to test them today.... and they work again! apparently it was fixed 1.9pre6, so now they are plausable systems again.

To celebrate, I had a go at designing a feasable station system for this lower cost method, and heres the result of a two platform station design that could be incorperated on the server.





The rail switch button changes from one platform to the other depending on fullness. You need length of train + 2 it seems of platform before the turn with the switch at the end of the platform for the whole train to get in, but i havent tried 3 cars long yet (which is more ideal as you can add a cargo car) And why two platforms? well once you pull into a platform if another train is there, you send it on to the next station so there will always be one either end.

What do you guys think? I'm very tempted to build one, but I know theres already 1 line in the swamp direction made (from ax's house 1 to ax's house 2) and I'm aware another may be being built anyway.

Nice, nice!

However, a few of us (mostly myself) are already building massive rail networks, and others (eg. Stuffman) plan on their own connection routes. I'm building mostly to the southwest, which doesn't approach your arena, though, so I say feel free to make yours to other areas!

Now, as for getting the needed rails...yeah, that is a bit tricky, but if mega-rail networks are planned (as was my case) you can try to ask Strafe for a chest of rails.

we could really do with someone drawing a rail map, as I have no idea where the current rail systems go, and the main one never has any carts in it lol

in fairness, it'd probably be fairly easy to modify into a cascading system (one cart arrives, next cart goes) in its current design.

Arranging a map of the planned railways everyone has in mind is a great idea, wil lhelp with planning and avoid redundancies. I have some myself, including converting the tunnel you provided us from spawn to the arena.

Nope. Looked on the wiki. That was a previous texture and format of the portal frames. They're in Beta 1.9 Pre 3 only. There's no way to get them back.

So there's this snapshot that's been released:

There were also them previous snapshots which let apples drop from trees and introduced sheep regrowing wool with the tall grass.  My real question is what do you guys (strafe and stuff) think about upgrading to these snapshots.  Granted it would be a hassle since these are weekly updates but it doesnt seem to add anything too gamebreaking.  Like the biome thing is totally optional so I don't see a reason to change worlds.  Also, "The first goal is to add breeding support to wolves, and then move on to more useful / interesting villagers" The first thing that came to mind was exuro mass breeding his wolves :V

That red circle is Sandstone Village and it is now under Imperial Command.
The building at the bottom left is the start of the new Phoenix Railway and a Sand Storage Facility.

Got it, recognizing said claim.

..seems empire-building is a real fad lately, with at least 3 different frontier states (Cadmas, Exuro, myself), 2 city-states (Hourai, Sparda), Sparda's Austrian Emperor Reimu skin...and the Potato Brigade spreads regardless.

So what, are we seeing Civilization or Age of Empires in our MC? :V



EDIT: As requested, I've made a very rough rail map. Drawings are approximate, aren't finalized in all cases (solid lines mark complete tracks), and I may not have all stated rail systems in mind. I'm going by what I am aware of as of the time. Completed stations are marked as well.

Red - Red Line (EP) - digging it all the way to my area will be a pain :V
Light Green - West Spawn Line (Sparda/EP)
Cyan - Sunny's little underground bazaar :V
Orange - planned Furnace Arena Rail (Haku)
Yellow - planned Castlevania rail (Stuffman)
BLUE, BLUE Sky Blue - planned Greater Spawn Region route (probably a good idea to use Kinzo's auto-minecart system here)

Now, I think we can combine Haku's and Stuffman's rails to make a northern spawn loop rail that originates at the community house and/or Dora's underground city. Such an idea isn't marked on this system yet, though.

if you're thinking automatic it'll have to be the powered rail version. I found serious problems with SMP and coal power sadly.

Only thing missing I can think of is axman's house to house rail but then that isn't exactly public anyway  :V

Worry not. I did no such thing, nor would have any reason to. The last creeper that I spawned was when we were all having fun playing Bumper Carts. :V One must always be vigilant in case those little bastards (or any other mob, for that matter) appear. I've had my fair share of creepers pop up in areas that have been lit very well. Sometimes, the spawning algorithm is just that persistent.

My fave are those rare occasions where a creeper does the impossible, sees you through a cobble stone wall, and explodes anyway.

It can smell your fear
