As with regards to the current presidential affair, I will, as of right now, stay neutral. I can, quite easily, place my faith in either candidate-as it stands, however, because of the new and previously unexplored nature of this game, I am unsure as to how applicable each candidate's skill-sets are. For this post, I will be examining their arguments.
While Ran-shama does provide a strong pitch, his pitch may in fact be detrimental to the game for a small number of reasons. Firstly, if there are no hydras then we cannot imagine things like Suwako with Kanako and Sanae's head, each saying "minemineminemineminemineminemineminemine".
Secondly, the absence of one part of the hydra is a -lot- less damaging to the game than the absence of a solo player. If the solo is lost, then 1/6th of the game grinds to a halt. However, if we only lose one head of the hydra, including or excluding the spokesperson, then in their absence it may be agreed upon that a second speaker could take their place, keeping the game going.
Understandably, concerns may be raised regarding the potential power that a hydra has. This, my fellow congressmen, is easily overcome. Charisma is not accumulative and, for as many ideas as the hydra may has, it requires at least one of them to find a way to express them. If that one player was a solo, I have no doubts he would be just as powerful.
Conversely, Zakeri is too accepting of the Hydras, too accepting to allow the power they undeniably hold to spread. What hope does a single lord or lady stand against an army 10 strong? Why would the secretary of defence so much as step outside his office when the third member of the secretary for flower donations could just as easily take his place? Why would anyone play if the walls stopping them are insurmountable?
I would like to present the lord and ladies with a third solution-moderated hydras.
Hydras can, if need be, act as a life support if one lord or lady is missing. Incidentally, they can break the game if they grow too strong, which is why I would like to suggest that we limit Hydras to no more than three people maximum-one person to act as the default spokesperson, one to act as a secondary spokesman, and a third to feel as if they were a part of something.
Through this approach of Hydra moderation, I wish to address the concerns of both sides, and find the most amiable solution which will keep the game running. I want to watch this game flourish at its maximum efficiency. I want to watch this game create forum-long bonds. I want to watch this game, and its participants, flourish.
Of course, I cannot simply speak. As my honored colleague said, we must take action.
And so I shall.
Momijibot, representing hydra moderation, is standing for presidency.
