Actually, Yogscast was more like a WoW group, but they stopped playing it due to Minecraft.

I figured it was something like that, but now they're basically doing all sorts of games.
I was particularly partial to the Magicka co-op with TotalBiscuit.
Simon was a big derp there, but that's why he's one of the most well-liked members. His shining examples of derpery bring a smile to the hearts of many.

There's a server list here, Though its nowhere near completion. Check the servers forum to find a few though.

Also I'm looking for one myself.

Double post for a half-bump.

Well, I got a cloud in a bottle, 4 mana stars, flippers, full silver armor, and two extra hearts. I believe today was pretty good for a quick 50 minute session :V

Here is a fun thing to try:

Get a good pickaxe and a miners helmet.
Build a normal house and dig an incredibly deep 2 block wide shaft until you hit lava or something.
Construct a house down there complete with walls, doors, tables, chairs and some torches.
Add some cobwebs or water to slow down your fall from above unless you have a horseshoe or a cloud in a bottle to survive the fall.

NPCs will now spawn at your deep underground base!

Atleast that happened to me, I got a Nurse 2k feet below the main building. She likes to walk into lava though.

Pfft, a real man gets the materials for his equipment by himself!

Otherwise they should just go home and be family men.

Apparently funneling large bodies of water down into hell may cause unmitigated horror of performance problems.
I'll come up with an evil scheme later. First, it's time to build a giant robot!

I found this game last weekend, soon followed by the thought "where the hell did my weekend go?". So far I'm enjoying this more than minecraft for several reasons: I'm a castlevania fanboy, love sprite based games and no goddamn weapon degradation! Started running a server for all my housemates; we're currently building a titanic sky fortress.

We just found the dungeon (had no idea what it was at the time) and the old man says to come back at night, so we sit there until nightfall. Holy crap! Skeletron!

We all die, again.

I think I found 5 crystal hearts within half an hour.

Then Eye of Cthulhu randomly appeared and kicked my ass in the cavern.

If you have ten hearts or more and you haven't killed the Eye, he will constantly spawn until you kill him.

Me vs. Eye of Cthulhu, Round 2.

Brought him down to two thirds, then his little eye minions fucked me over.

Gotta bring shuriken with me next time.

I bought this for my roommates and myself recently.  Super fun game.

Started running a server for all my housemates; we're currently building a titanic sky fortress.

We want to do this too, but how do you get up there?  Are you required to build stairs? :/

Personally I prefer shafts with wooden platforms. They take up less horizontal space and you can shoot arrows straight up and down if monsters try to use them.

This actually works.
also guys the second any of you get the grappling hook this game is so much easier. There's only one enemy that flys, one boss that flys, and both wont matter since all you're really doing is grappling around inside a cave.
In other news: Digging straight down is the smartest thing to do in Terraria. I know, it confuses me too.

Yeah, I got the grappling hook and have been loaning it to my roommate, who quickly realized digging vertically downwards is by far the fastest way of getting cool stuff. <_<

We all have magic mirrors for warping to a spawn point. I'm the only person in my household with the grappling hook, so after building the lowest point of the sky fortress I built a save room (sealed room with walls, light source, door and a bed) and lent everyone my hook so they could get there and set their spawn point in the fortress. Whenever we need to get back in the fortress, just warp there.

No need for stairs which the bloody goblin army can climb; of course everyone needs a magic mirror.

Just started on Terraria, whee. I'll take this advice for, uh, when I get that far.

Also, my miniature homestead (got the Guide, the Merchant, and the Demoman here) seems not to be attacked by monsters anymore.

no

Anyways yeah, The games pretty fun once you get up to silver-tier. By then you should have some form of Grappling hook, which again makes the game your personal bitch.

also dont forget the chandeliers which are so cool

When the goblin army comes along it's fun to keep a few buckets of lava around to pour down stairs or access shafts. The cleanup afterwards can sometimes be a pain, but it's totally worth it.  :V
(I guess you could just dig a ditch and leave it there as a moat.)

Is it just me, or is there a certain point where you just use dynamite on everything?

Shadow Orb
   >Dynamite
Mining
   >Dynamite
Any form of boss/enemy
   >Goddamn DYNAMITE

Sure, it costs 50 silver a piece, but when you spend 2 minutes blowing a massive hole in the ground that leads to what is essentially hell, you feel as though it was money well spent.

You gunna light it up like its dynamite?

anyways how do you fight a boss that isnt world eater with dynamite? Arent all the bosses like floating? and how much damage does it do?
oh and get nightmare pick, makes getting orbs faster, mining faster, and I've solo'd the eyeball with just the nightmare pick before.

Well, maybe not any boss, but it helps with swarms of enemies you don't feel like fighting.

Also goddamn skeletron doin' 9980 damage on me just because the sun was about to come out. You had less than 1000 health, you bastard. And I even had shadow armor. ;_;
Might as well flood hell for the next tier before I try it again. Or actually save up for the minishark.

I hear the bosses are best meant to be fought with friends.
I'd lend a hand, but my gear's shit right now.
Don't even have any armor yet, and no other weapons beyond the wooden sword yet.
Though I am working on that, even though ores are playing hard to get.
