Unsettling in a number of ways. Ways, perhaps, that I cannot put into words. It came so much earlier than I'd dared to hope. And of course there's the usual uncertainty about the slowdown involved. But, here it is. The run exists now. Anyone can see it and judge for themselves. Personally at this point I see no reason to do serious runs with this computer ever again. If I someday find myself in a situation in which I can play this game without any slowdown, maybe I can try something then. Despite all I've said in the past I can see myself going even further. It doesn't need to be the end yet. I've been on the "one high score per year" plan for ages now, but it's not a problem. Slow and rare steps are steps nonetheless. But like I said, not until it runs smoothly again.

Broken image links?

I just scrolled through and tested out the other links. Added strikethroughs for any broken links I found (like I did with broken replay links in other threads years back), though there are so many I might've missed a few.

Probably a good idea not to use puu.sh for submissions, considering it'll delete anything not accessed for a month.

Yeah, I wasn't aware of that at the time. But moving these to private seems to fix it. I was only able to do this for my Rikako and Yumemi run for PoDD and my Normal ReimuB run on SoEW. If the others that have their images lost now aren't considered valid anymore, I might try to get in new runs to fix that issue someday...

I can also mention that my and Zil's Twitch links that were striked through still exist. Around 8-9 months ago Twitch simply made highlights that were  older than 8-9 months have a different link now. Probably because they were still using an old version of Twitch's video player. So I'm providing links to these:

I don't think there's actually a policy yet for broken replay/screenshot links in already added scores (new first place submissions won't be added), as long as it's not being done intentionally. I've considered bumping up the highest confirmed score to first place, but that could be confusing. The strikethrough method actually dates back to my Dropbox-based updates from 2013, when I wouldn't have been able to change the policy if I wanted to.

(The puu.sh in your signature is broken too, by the way.)

Maybe a bad suggestion, but reading this has made me think a little about such a policy, what about saving pictures of the scores; then putting them into folders which're playerspecific? That way there's always a back-up ready to be uploaded in case the other pictures disappear, for videos I guess you could make a screenshot of the end of the video where it displays the score.

That wouldn't be such a bad idea. It's at least not like you have to do that for all games. Just the PC-98 games since the other games just have the replay system. And some PC-98 players submit videos instead of screenshots as well. Though if videos could become broken, I doubt you'd want to save those.

I think it's the players' responsibility to keep the links valid.

I'm also not sure if broken screenshots really matter, as long as they initially confirm there wasn't, say, a mistyped/falsely increased score. Do people actually look at the screenshots? (Serious question here, not trying to be rhetorical.)

Videos matter more since they show the full run, but an archive of those would require dedicated hosting somewhere. I guess replays could be archived for the newer games, though downloading all of them initially would take quite a while. I hope gensokyo.org doesn't go down, actually...

DRC is Dodging Rain Competition. A competition that's organised within the Eientei forums. The score system for this competition, as far as scoring is concerned, isn't meant to get past 500 points (500 points would be the WR of the difficulty and shottype). The formula is 500 * (Score / WR) ^ 4. My score was so much higher than WR that it made my DRC score 1,966 points, so way above the intended limit. Though it's decided to just cap the score to 500.

I think the average teams usually got during DRC rounds was about 2,2k points (that is teams of about 16-18 people usually?) so Kirby getting almost 2k points for his entry would definitely mean the score rubrics are rigged, in previous rounds we actually had a cap at 500 points max (either you get the same score as the WR or you score above the WR, I can imagine how silly this can be in things like LLS's extra stage, I wasn't really present when we decided the scoring rubrics in the committee since I think I was afk at that point but we really should put more thought in the scoring rubrics for certain categories, like for certain ones use a practical score if we think the score can be higher or will be matched without too much effort.)
