Punch in the url of the Youtube video you want, use the drop-down to pick the appropriate file format (you can choose .mp3 out of it if all you're after is the audio track, or you can save the entire video, among other options) and then the audio and visual bitrate. The higher you set those to, the longer it'll take for the site to process and upload it to you, but it's worth it.

If you can get it to install. I've had nothing but problems with the windows live system on 7. Starting with live messenger, which only worked if I ran it in compatability mode for XP. then WMM wouldnt install, as it said there was a problem with the live system, which must be reinstalled. so I uninstalled all the live components, and then they wouldn't reinstall, any of them, because it seemed to think they stilll needed uninstalling.

after that I gave up on the windows live products, I dont use any IM program and havented edited a video in years 

(now thanks to raymoo, i may just start... not on IM software though. IRC is where its at)

I run W7 Ultimate, and Windows Live stuff runs perfect for me. I talk on Messenger, I edit on Movie Maker, I type up stuff on Writer, all of that. No hitches. Literally ran an installer and haven't had a single problem since, unlike the old MS stuff.

Also, have you guys not heard of Easy YouTube Video Downloader? It's an extension for both Firefox -and- Chrome that allows you to rip a video in any quality it has, as well as in mp3 format. Boom. Simple.

That's a good extension. Myself, all I have to do is start playing the video in my browser, and then open my /tmp directory. The video downloads there automatically. Syncing in audio is also pretty easy with Kino.
