Finally managed to kick my ojousama's ass on hard.

Hard mode is just punishment if you make a wrong move. And my ojousama punished me a lot of times.

I have the issue now as well. It seems like it is related to drivers. I'll explain it on irc when you are around. But I have suddenly trouble livestreaming the final boss proper. FPS drops to 5 after a few minutes. As if it is choking.

I think I could actually do a no-deaths hard run. Imma try that first before uploading that other run. :V

As for that recording issue, I haven't tried Fraps, but I just use Hypercam 2. No issues.

EDIT:
While I'm posting, does anyone know if there's a hidden healing item close to Youmu? Or is the last one the one in the room with the flaming skulls?
It kinda helps to have full health for Youmu.

Hard 1cc no deaths!

Youmu is probably the hardest part of the game. The final bosses can easily be taken down with some strategy but Youmu remains pretty relentless.

This game is really, really fun by the way.

1 death Hard 1cc No Sub-Weapons / Assists where the death was... this. Skipped over the 1up on Stage 5 without realizing it . Don't know where the Stage 6 one is; I'll start messing around looking for it later.

Didn't like the way I handled the Final Stage.

Hmm, I really don't find the stages themselves hard at all (also with tons of healing items lying around) but I haven't tried doing them without sub-weapons if that's what you were getting at. :V

Might try a no sub-weapons run later though.

My opinion... still stands. Stages are trivial. Youmu is the hardest part of the game. :V
Now I feel compelled to try a no deaths, no sub-weapons 1cc. It's not really that much harder than normal anyway.

She's not TOUGH per se. Most of her attacks have openings. It's just that you'd probably would have taken damage by the time you actually got to her, so you're probably bound to lose a life unless you're really careful.

Also Jaimers, what do you have you HC2 settings at? I can record at least okay, but the settings are limited and/or very confusing. It records my mic sound instead of Vista sound, does some other weird things, and I'm not sure how to change it.

If it records your mic you probably have to select stereo mix in the sound menu. You do have this enabled on your computer do you?

Well it isn't all that useful except from assisting with speedrun (face backward and backdash so you are dash forward, usually there is a recovery time when you land, but with knife the recovery time is removed).

It is very useful for springing back after an attack. Attacking on the ground using A or DownA carries lag that can be canceled with a backdash, but landing with a backdash carries even more lag. Instead, after dashing you cancel into a flip which carries very little to no lag, and it also puts you into the air for more attacks immediately. Of course, simply going A->flip->A doesn't gain you any time at all between attacks and the damage caused by two flip knives is about the same as a kick, so it isn't useful for attacking more than a fairy. You'll see it used more in Stage 2 if I can record it.

I found myself unable to record a full run thanks to the lack of HDD space! Raw video takes anywhere from 60-80GB, which is well beyond my capacity thanks to a certain HDD incident from a certain other individual causing me to back up all the contents of that to my external and his external. So I'll just stick to single stage performances. Primarily, speedrunning (sans backdash-to-backflip use because that level of execution constantly is just too much) through the stages and speedkilling bosses without Sub-Weapons or Assists (and / or without getting hit).

EDIT: Scrap part of the above, it's the slightly compressed portions which are 60-80GB; putting them altogether and leaving that unprocessed brings it up to 150+GB which is orz-inducing. Yeah I'll definitely stick to doing stages individually and uploading those and streaming full runs kthx.

Also, it is now possible to download Koumajou 2 via the download shop! Unfortunately, the purchase site is still in Japanese (as stated in the link). Double unfortunate that it's only PayPal. Also for the truly clueless, it is currently on sale with a coupon (code: AJAG-0005DL_0ang3kds), giving you a 300 yen discount (approx. 3 USD) which is valid until February 29 (NB: their time).

Damn post ninjers. Anyway yeah 1.02 released. Since a lot of you won't bother paying attention to the other changes, English and French Language has been implemented (don't ask what Custom is; I have no idea). After updating, you can toggle the language through config.exe . EDIT: Appears to be glitched. Disregard, they're to-come. So no, not yet.

EDIT: Also I have been spending the last week bashing my head against Stage 5 Hard trying to get a No Damage No Sub Weapons and No Flight to no avail. Think I'll drop parts of the No Flight because I don't trust myself against the boss (Stage itself is fine overall).

EDIT 2: I also realizes that this makes my other parts invalid (tweaks, etc.) FFFFF I'll have to run through them again.

Managed a Hard clear and got pretty close to a Normal 1cc. If I picked up more than two of the 1-ups, I woulda had it big time.

Meh, I didn't do so well. I only had a couple lives near the end of the stage and that went down the tubes pretty quick. And yes, based on the stage and the souped up axe and arrow fairies, Patchouli can break the stage. But I never used Patches. BV
