>"Well, that's more than I usually get," says Reimu, smiling a bit. "You're welcome."
>With that, she takes to the air, Plum Flower being dislodged by the motion, but quickly recovering and following Reimu, orbiting around her.

>You head for the kappa village!
>This time, you aren't given any trouble as you fly over the forest at the base of Youkai Mountain, and soon each the outskirts of the Kappa Village. From above, you can see many people milling about the build site on the northern side of the river; while the river itself seems to have a lot of activity.

>It is interested in so much as there seem to be a lot of kappa around the river. From what you can tell, there's a fair amount of activity going on around the banks, and more of it in the river itself. You don't know what is going on, but you think you see a couple of stands.

>You swoop down for a closer look, finding yourself hoping for a festival!
>It seems a little too sedate for a festival. From above, it seems the stands are all dealing in fish. Glancing into the river, you see a kappa pop out of the water with a fish in hand, and swim over to one of the stands. You can see a fair number of other youkai among the crowd of people buying.

>Admittedly, you don't know much about fish that isn't prepackaged and labeled. You seem some prices as low as 2-3☼, while others are as high as 30☼. The average seems to run from 8-15☼.
>After a brief look-around, and marveling at all the varieties of blue hair you see among the kappa, you head to Nitori's warehouse. You find the bay door is open, and Nitori heating a rice-cooking pot with what looks oddly like a welding torch.

>"Okay," says Nitori, as she sets the blowtorch aside. "You've met Patchouli or Alice or the like, right? Imagine them, but worse. That's your basic heretic. They're  religious fanatics. but instead of following a good honest god, or a nice creed like Buddhism, they try to make up laws about how things work and then won't stop proselytizing if you give them half a chance. And if you start poking holes in those laws of their's, they get really annoying."

>"But science is, by definition, a reflection of empirical data. Things that can be tested and reproduced, and from which you can determine rules about how things work. If a scientific law can be shown to be false by an actual phenomenon, then the law must be adjusted to compensate for this. Science is not about belief, but about reality. Science that does not match up with reality is simply just plain wrong."
>"Or... does the term mean something different in Gensokyo?"
