Katawa Shoujo. No, really. I figured I had to at least try a VN or something resembling one at some point in my life.

Found it surprisingly interesting, though I think that was due to the specific concept/setting rather than actually liking the VN format. Got the

Final Fantasy V for like the bajillionith time. Decided to do something a little weird, for me anyway. I went with a straight forward team. Butz is the Knight, Faris is the Monk, Galuf is the BM, and Reina is the WM.

That's not even the most disturbing boss in the game.
Also, strangely enough, I just replayed that a few days ago. I got the Saturn version and played through as Maria, which was really interesting. The Saturn-exclusive areas were fun as well, if a bit linear and tacked-on. It was worth getting that version just for (Warning: nightmare fuel) that one tree...

I made Faris a thief though. :derp:
Took me quite a while to win.
Even now I can't beat the final boss reliably.
Mind you, it's the advance version, so i still have all the postgame stuff to contend with, like getting the Necromancer job.
After that, it's gonna be just plain messing around, and finishing up.

Of course, because I am currently 3 episodes behind the Rest Of The Internet I am having a really hard time avoiding spoilers, and I already had a bunch just from being a citizen on the internet before and being 3 years late to the party again :ohdear:

If it's episode 4, spare yourself now! There is important stuff for the introduction for a major character, but I would've rather skipped the whole thing. I got bogged down by it and haven't touched Umineko since.

That reminded me that I never finished VC2 and so I started playing it yesterday.

New Christmas games: Donkey Kong Country Returns and Etrian Odyssey 3. Am just about to start EO3, but DKCR is pretty nice so far. The controls aren't near as tight as the other games, but the level design is cute.

Just finished Mass Effect 1, will start ME2 after I'm done with The Witcher.

Please, stop trying to influence me to continue on with Umineko, folks. Triangles is far from the only person who has brought it up in my mind that I have left that job exactly half done, and I have been reminded of it dozens of time since I dropped it over a year ago. After reading episode 4, I wanted to reach into the VN and club the characters over the head with their own ridiculous, hate-filled words. I got the same feeling when I read Lord of the Flies and Rainbow Six. I don't want to have to deal with such frustration ever again.
