>"Okay," says Renko, starting down the street.  "It's this way."
>"Don't touch it again, alright?" Parsee says.
>"Wait up!" Maribel cries, as you move on.
>You cover about half a block, before stopping at a tall wooden fence, high enough to reach your chin.  "It went in here," says Renko.

>"Stargazer, keep an eye out for that thing. Let me know the moment you think you sense anything."

>You walk through the gate.
>You see a small, darkened single story house taking up most of the property. The front yard is patchy and unkempt; you can see a small path leading toward the back yard. A streetlight nearby lets you see most of the yard pretty well, but some of it is obscured by deep shadows.
>She is already looking. You sense she'll do exactly as you asked.

>Go have a look at the darkened areas
>If there's nothing to be found there, have a quick look in the backyard

>You look around the shadowy areas and find nothing of interest.
>Slipping into the backyard, you find it is much darker here. There is some light from a streetlight the block over, but not really enough to shed much light here. From what you can gather, the yard here seems about the same as the yard up front.

>You do a circuit around the yard, and end up tripping over a small fence and into a small, presently bare garden. You don't see any signs of the cat, and Stargazer doesn't sense anything. You are pretty sure Renko is correct in her assessment.
>You announce your intentions to the others, who are trying to watch over the fence.
>"Might as well," says Renko.

>"We'll go one way," says Parsee, "And they can take the other."
>"Yeah, we'll meet halfway." Says Renko.
>You head out, and begin to poke around the block. There is another alley, you look into it. Parse stays close to you, her eyes and head always darting about.
>There isn't much of anything to be found, save that going around the block puts you on the edge of the parts of the skids you grew up in and know well.

Couldn't tell you exactly why it felt like a good idea. Really just grasping at straws at this point, I think. If it doesn't want us to find it, I don't think we can. Heck, it could just have vanished already, for all we know."

>Examine the area near our house, and then double back to meet up with Renko and Maribel

>You examine around your house, and freeze. There it is, on your doorstep. Even in the weak illumination from the distant streetlight, you can see it sitting there, apparently looking toward your door. It is no longer a solid black spot in the the darkness, you can see through it easily. It must be close to disappearing again.

>You watch the cat shadow. If it knows you're there, it does not care. It stares at the door, swishing its tails, and seems to be getting less solid by the minute.

>You follow the cat shadow inside, trying to keep quiet. It's dark, but you know your home well enough to make your way through without any problem. You hear Parsee curse softly as she hits the couch.
>Orin has left her door open, probably due to having the house to herself. Peeking in, you can see her sleeping inside. The cat shadow is curled up on her torso, and fades from view.
