You regard your current
SKILLS and the accompanying
STATISTICS. You notice that
MARISA seems to have supplemented her spells recently.
An explanation:
GRAZE increases as you nudge up against
DANMAKU without getting hit.
POWER goes up as you defeat your opponent's patterns, and the amount depends on how well you did.
VIGOR steadily increases over time, and
SNAZZ increases with the amount of damage you deal.
ATTACKS which use
GRAZE and
SNAZZ expend them as "fuel," whereas
POWER and
VIGOR merely need to be above a certain level, and only decrease if you
DIE or take
DAMAGE, respectively. It's all so simple you wonder why you needed this explained.

You should have specified who was doing the blasting!
MARISA's
HEALTH has been reduced to
KINDA OKAY and her
VIGOR is now 74. Throwing around
MINIATURE SUNS outside of
SPELL CARDS is just not cool.
