If the Endless Eight conversation is still going on, I watched all 8 episodes because it was fun to see how they changed things around. There's a Nico Nico Douga video somewhere that plays all eight at once. That, and the discussions made it really fun(on Gamefaqs). A bunch of people would rage and claim they would drop the series, only to be back a week later; some would try to predict when it would end, and somewould troll the other two groups. Oh, and can't the memes and the shops, those were fun too.It was like Bleach chapter discussion, only more rage-filled due to higher expectations.

I have a tendency to drop series halfway, even with series that I enjoy. Did it with Lucky Star, did it with K-on!! (i'm like 6+ episodes behind x_x), and definitely did it with Haruhi season 2. By the time I heard from someone that Endless Eight was over, I never bothered to check out the rest.

Though, I HAVE to check out that new opening and ending. Ritsu with her hair down :* And Azusa with a ponytail is :* as well

I'm always just a little bit hesitant to check out anime/film/etc adaptations without checking out the source material. Do you think I should check out Twelve Kingdoms anyway?

You could.  It should be understandable enough even if you didn't read the novels, there are some references in the anime to things that happen in later books, I found myself going, "Oh! It's that guy from the one book!" or similar phrases, but it's nothing important.  It may be more difficult to understand at first and it starts slow, but there is eventually a recap episode where things are explained, until then you're not exactly supposed to know what's going on anyway.
The adaptation is both different and the same enough (because of course that makes sense) that if you read the novels later they'll likely still be enjoyable, and the anime is still enjoyable if you read the novels first.
But unless you really hate reading or something I recommend that you do read the novels eventually because they are amazing.
Take me on a rocket ride.

Guess where those high expectations came from :|

There's the movie left, I really hope I don't have to do the impossible to be able to watch it, though it sounds unlikely to ever reach Europe.

Well, most of it seemed to be because they thought they weren't going to do Disappearance. Once the movie came out, I think most of the rage fizzed out. It  was fun while it lasted. Btw, how was Sighs, I never finished it, didn't have time after the first episode of it. btw, you know when the Nanoha movie and the yugioh 10th anniversary special are coiming out on dvd(in Japan.)

That's like the only anime I actually picked up from the summer season.

I watch it because it amuses me immensely.

EDIT:  Whoa man.  Katanagatari was crazier than usual this month.

Shizuka (nsfw?)
Saeko
Hirano
Saya

The nurse is huge. You know, tall. She's, uh, really tall.

Also, I'm waiting for that Simon Pegg cameo.

Rukenshin is different from most other Shonen in that its actually good. Very good actually, right up their with Yuyu Hakusho, and the earlier parts of JJBA. God, I miss Toonami now. I've been managing to miss all week for some reason...

Also, live action Roukenshin: Ahahaha, NO. >:(

Haters gonna hate Live Action so yeah.

To begin with it is played by http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuki_Sato
I'd say his best role thus far as I don't watch too much J Drama, is Kagami Arata in Kamen Rider Kabuto where he plays a bumbling task force officer seeking independence and justice in a world overrun by strange earthling masquerading / transforming creatures known as WORMs. His journey sees him best the impossible odds and emerge superior, he also later becomes Gatack (one of the hero characters).

Seeing that his biography thus far, I'd say he is a good candidate for this show as he is experienced in the media of Live Action.
He also plays Kenshin in case you wonder.

-----------

Meanwhile, despite some overwhelming similiarities, I am not in the business of subbing anime.

I did not for example, SUB the anime Asobi ni Iku Yo.
I however,recommend it.

If Alien catgirls with big boobs and plugsuits hang on to a useless guy fighting against his best friend, teacher and a mysterious girl who likes him at school who all are secretly: The CIA, the leader of a terrorist fanatical alien observation tactics force, and a superweapon secretly developed by a secret organization who also share a name with a certain white wolf tengu don't get on your attention, I sure hope the ecchi does.

Dear GOD BOOBS.

Ookami-san just keeps getting higher and higher on the awesome scale.

I was feeling it, then it started to lose me now that third episode came out, whose message seemed to be, "So you used to be fat and ugly when you were a kid - you're hot now! And isn't the most important thing that I, your boyfriend, think you're hot?" I was kinda like :/

"Human history and growth are both linked closely to strife. Without conflict, humanity would have no impetus for growth. When humans are satisfied with their present condition, they may as well give up on life."
