alabaster wouldn't call Uematsu "pretty big". "Pretty big" in his vernacular would be something akin to geist from last year (a band maybe 3 people there had heard of).

Yumemi vest, bow tie, and skirt done. Cape with capelet is about 80% there. Haven't touched the wig yet but that shouldn't take long. Yup. Wrapping things up on this end and I should be done in about 2 weeks if I break my wrist.... NOW!

Now to hope and pray that my boss realizes that I not only qualify for vacation time more than a month before Otakon, but I've worked enough extra hours without pay to cover for both days I want off for Otakon in spades.

Yeah I got lucky my request off for Otakon got approved the other day so now It should be smooth sailing from here. I had to convince my boss otherwise for AUSA last fall.

I a just have to finish my Utsuho boot and cape then everything will be done on my end for the cosplay. Also got the lights and sounds working so any requests for songs? I just gotta toss the mp3 on the SD card. Gotta blast something other than just klaxxons

This is not necessarily a bad thing: apparently a whole bunch of the notifications sent out this weekend were declines. You're still on the table, at the very least.

Oh that's good. We've been too busy with our local con and didn't check anything, all we knew was the email we got a while back that boiled down to YEAH TOTALLY WE'LL LET EVERYONE KNOW BY THE 18TH FOR REALZ THIS TIME.

We miiiight have red flagged by being each other's assistant panelist but that's because we help each other by making sure someone with zero background can understand it so uh hopefully one of ours makes it!

Also speaking of Otakon I'm trying to hammer down my costume lineup. Miria (done, might need some touchups), Reisen (need to make ears) Eudial (friends are plotting Witches 5 group, she's the bestest clearly) and then... I don't know? I think I'm going to melt in Byakuren so I don't think that's a good idea

We don't know. The confirmation e-mail says nothing beyond "you has a panul".

When they get back to us, we'll be sure to post. It may not be more than a couple of weeks before the con, though.

We might have asked for that specifically, to be honest. Panels during major concerts tend to get better attendance because of all the people that have friends in that concert and need something to kill time for a few hours.

It's worked for us at AnimeBoston twice.

Anyway, I'm pretty much confirming my non-participation. Having to buy birthday presents and stuff has left me with exactly 1 dollar in my wallet, and even though I have some money in the bank, it's not enough to cover the price of a con ticket, transportation, and a room.

Oh, so Scripty WILL be joining us to? He was a pretty cool guy. Last time it was brought up was at AB when Scripty was pondering it over, so he had to option to join in. Well, good.

Now to hope and pray my boss will realize that he will owe me several days worth of unpaid work and that I'll have plenty of vacation time by Otakon.

Apparently all panel acceptance notifications have been sent out now, so check your e-mail, triangles.
