I like Hatate because of the "same character done different" appeal. This is why I like the fan characters Achicirno and Meimu, and it plays a part in my love of Sanae, too. But usually, it depends on the base character. I like Aya, but not that much, so that goes for Hatate too. For fan-stuff, I don't really care about Nitori so I don't care about Mitori either. The Reimu-Sanae difference is almost the same, I like Reimu's design, so I like Sanae's more, but here, their personalities play a much more important part in my decision and love, this is why I love Sanae a LOT more than Reimu.

Nicely done. Though your art really does look almost TOO much like Alphes'. You even draw the same pointy little fingers as him.

So that'd be the first thing Ive done that maybe you can call fanfiction. Also the window looks weird. dunno why but I went a bit crazy with the shape of the frame. Somehow I think taking a picture of it in my notebook actually makes it a bit more eery somehow than scanning it would have.

Hihirokane Kilin no Niji

(this born from a reflextion about certain game with certain ost...(nanshoku=same color same love gender, but now rainbow things are about love with same gender.and hihirokane is a hard magical metal,kilins are like unicorns, niji means rainbow...)
is like a continuation after that two images in the monocromatic rainbow title. (thanks for do it, adm! n_n)

I think your line art is very cute.
I recently downloaded SAI on my dad's computer, but it's doesn't have the programming to use my tablet, and my school laptop can, but you need the school admin pw to install shit. (In other words, I downloaded SAI on my dad's computer for no reason.)
So I'm stuck with Photoshop CS4, but I'm familiarizing myself with the basics.

I dunno, I've gotten some okay results with a watercolor-esque style.

Regarding your lineart question, are you asking about line quality or fundamentals more generally? If the former, I can't really offer any solution that doesn't involve 5 hours of 400% zoomed cleanup. If the latter, it's a simple matter of reading Andrew Loomis's books cover-to-cover and doing lots and lots of practice. The trick is visualizing things in 3D and understanding really well how body parts go together in real life, both of which are especially tricky for someone who's cut their teeth on animu.

Outlining and coloring was relatively quick and dirty - Please don't look into it too much.
Yeah, Reimu's arms are... Really, really long... :/ Proportions are a(n unfortunately necessary) pain.
Nonetheless, I consider this one of my better drawings, actually. At the least when uncolored.

Thanks. Yeah, I referenced an older system camera for her to emphasize their difference. It's a Nikon somewhat or another.
