- SFN after 14 tries, by sticking around the bottom and moving as little as possible. Dunno how long I can survive with this though.
- Phoenix Rebirth after, uhh ... 30 tries. The first two waves are relatively easy (if not extremely easy). Then BAM, the third one is completely messed up.

I hate phoenixes.

For PR,  get on one side of the screen and just move towards the other during the third waves. Don't worry about the phoenixes, just the little shard-bullets.

Played LLS lunatic. Only notable thing was that I CAPTURED THE STAGE 4 MIDBOSS AT MAX RANK FUCK YEAH.

Posting in the middle of a PoDD Lunatic run.
Round 1 Kotohime was 3 seconds away from killing me when she died.
Round 2 Reimu was pretty simple.
Round 3 Kana lasted about 30 seconds, tops.  Shortest.  Round.  Ever.
Round 4 Marisa knocked me down to half a heart pretty fast, but went down eventually.
Round 5 Ellen started with a summon in about 4 seconds, which by itself knocked me down to half a heart.  I then beat her by SHENANIGANS.
Round 6...Mima.  Here goes.  EDIT:  Killed me twice, just barely pulled off the third round.  Mima SERIOUSLY needs to stop launching four successive Level 4 + Level 3 combos.
Round 7: Rikako killed me twice, again with a bomb.  Goddamnit.
Round 8: Wow.  Chiyuri was insane for a while, then I knocked her down to half a heart, got my gauge full again...and then she pincered me between two lasers and dropped a single popcorn bullet at full speed right into my hitbox.

Though, now I know that I can't 1cc PoFV Normal. Even using Mystia, the only character I can play properly, I only made it on my last life, and then only because my computer was running at 20fps during Shikieki's spellcards. sigh.

Still recuperating from not playing Touhou in two weeks. Captured Hell's Tokamak by staying near the center, which I've never even tried before, what the hell. Also consistently did no worse than 1 death on Nuclear Excursion over several tries (never captured it, but never did plain horribly on it either), and had my absolute closest pass of a sun during NE as well - couldn't see my (unfocused) sprite at all, perhaps worthy of the "Too Close to the Sun" achievement?

Did SA Stage 4 Hard afterward, and captured DBDB on my first (and only) try. Did I seriously just get better at that card? Maybe sitting on my strategy for two weeks inadvertently burned it into my brain or something, because I read the bullets like it was nothing. And no, I don't think I got overly lucky that time. All I need to do is relearn BoWaP and a perfect run might be in the works.

I really thought i would do incredibly well on this as i am a lunatic and all that but i still managed to get myself killed at a lot of very embarassing places. Despite my mistakes i still did it in one attempt.

Also, I wish my hitbox detection skills on the older games were as good as they are in MoF and SA. So many WTF deaths on PCB and EoSD. I still need to go 1cc EoSD and PCB Hard since I've made it to the final attack on both. I can't get far on either on Lunatic yet I can on MoF and SA.

Playing Yukari's SWR storymode on easy. Not only did I break Marisa's "Surefire Master Spark" so that the rings kept hovering there even after she KO'd, this is what my score for that stage was!

Around 45-50. Could be less, though. I don't think it took nearly half the time needed to capture LFO (80 tries).

About half a dozen in full runs where I didn't even try. And I'm pretty sure some of the better players needed substantially less than that for a first capture - Jaimers needed about 30 attempts to timeout SFN after all.

Really, it's all a matter of how early in your skill development you decide to go for it. When I started trying, I had already 1cc'ed half the series on lunatic, therefore I think 31 attempts was waaaay too much.

1/21 if you don't feel like clicking the pic.  The really shitty high score ending in a 9 (imagine that was enclosed in a circle if it really matters to you) tells me I hadn't 1cced yet, and I believe it was actually the previous night that I had continuespammed my way through MoF Lunatic and unlocked Stage 6 for practice in the first place.  Also looking through my photobucket, the images directly preceding it were from my PCB Hard 1cc, so those should give you an idea of where I was when I capped it.  I also believe I'd been playing Touhou for about a month (though, that's a month with three weeks of it on school winter break with no job, so yeah, a lot of Touhou happened in that time).

Totally a fluke though.  I rewatched the replay a few days ago (keep in mind that I have an NDNB timeout now, so suffice it to say I can read it), and saw far too many points where I really should have died.  My second capture of it was somewhere in the realm of 2/80.

I also remember donut questioning my legitimacy at this point, which thoroughly entertained me.

Virtue of Wind God (Hard) captured on my first try of the day. I feel like I'm back to my old self now. Just gotta pray that my computer doesn't get fluke-infected again...

I only wish I had as much free time as Krim. I don't have a job, but I did start Touhou smack in the middle of a school semester, plus at the time I also played Smash competitively. It may not even be until a month from now that I have enough free time to continue-spam my way through some Lunatic (preferably MoF or SA), but you never know. Either way he has me beat in terms of skill growth speed.

My initial capture was at 1/25 i think. Now i have 41/181 on it. I often find myself trying to time it out but i often get hit a lot. 

I think my biggest issue is actually input mistakes rather than reading mistakes though.

I have NO idea how many attempts it took to capture it the first time, I wish I had kept track of these things. :|
But this all is normal captures, no focus capture attempts and timeout attempts.
I just now realise that I haven't captured this card much at all.  :/

And to be fair: "SFN" took me about 80 attempts.  :V
Although this is still wtf little for the amount it should take.

It was the second Last Word I captured, I didn't find it all that insane although I probably passed through luck since it was under 20 attempts (although I used Malice Cannon to beat it in two waves instead of 3 that other shot types take)

However, timing that thing out is batshit. It gets harder as time goes on D:
