Things were a bit twitchy at the beginning, but we started to hammer the Sub Hime once I changed the load out around.

I got an A-Rank on the final kill though because my girls couldn't hit the flagship-tier light cruiser that had 1HP left in the night battle. ;>;

Either way, dropping down to Easy Mode for E-2 now that I've done what I wanted.

Cleared E-1 on hard. Whatever that Seaplane Hime's transport count is, it's seems to be greater than 6 because killing it 6 times did nothing to the boss. It was a good chance to try out Fusou Kai Ni (younger sister Yamashiro was taking care of the main part of the map) anyway since it's her first real battlefield deployment. Also AACI-equipped Teruzuki absolutely neuters Airfield Princess's attacks in E-1. Every time we passed G node, we took less than 10 damage total.

[attach=1]

Didn't need it anyhow. Three tries on Last Dance. Two were Head-on encounters where EVERYONE missed or did scratch damage but on the third try when we had parallel, we were doing 50+ a shot with my CLs and tore through it easily.

On to E-2 tomorrow while everyone gets rested and recovered.

E-1 Normal
Sub hime was a total pushover.
Got Ooyodo (sparing me from 1-6 thank the gods), Goya, and Kiyoshimo. I'll come back for you Mizuho, I promise.
ITAI

E-2 Easy
No trouble so far brute forcing it with the Kongou and Shouhou sisters, 2 kills for 2 runs.
No notable drops yet. Akashi please.
It took me forever to realize the new hime has braids.

So E-2 on Easy Mode was almost hilariously easy once I switched to Kongou, Bismarck, Haruna, Kirishima, Kaga, and Hiryuu.

Now that that's over, time to head for E-3.

Currently attempting E-2 Hard. I've gotten her down to about 40% HP without needing support fleets. I've gotten her down to red fairly consistently, so I think the support fleet will push me over the edge I need.

I'm sending in the Elite team for this one: Maya, Yamashiro, {rotating in and out a Kongou sister}, Bismarck, Taihou and Souryuu. Maya Kai Ni takes care of any air threats. Those airfield princesses have not managed to do more than 15 damage a run.

Well I'm going to proceed to tell you tell you about the event so far since I completed a portion of it:

E-1: The Campan Gulf Campaign: Sub nuking

Honestly, if you don't know how to fight subs at this point, then I'll be baffled because honestly this map is insanely easy... EVEN on hard.

You put Kasumi as your flagship, and then fight some subs, go south, fight surface ship like destroyers and light cruisers for two nodes. And then you just fight the boss...

Submarine Hime

Let's face it, one would expect her to be a troublesome opponent. Since she's quite tanky, but in this event she seems to have been toned down a bit. She comes with 2 Ka-class subs, a light cruiser and some late model destroyers.

All which are easy to kill even without guns.

Best recommended crew is to have Kasumi, some CLs, a light carrier, and an Aviation Battleship. It's more than enough to nuke her and her team.

Honestly this is the one time I did a run where every run ends with a successful win with no fails at the boss node... it was a bit.... too easy...

Once that over I got my rewards, which included some basic Mamiya/ Irako and Repair Goddess stuff follow up with this....

The 16 in. Triple Gun Mount Mk.7
The famous Iowa class gun that forshadows what's to come in the future. Now we can own one... if you beat the sub hime on hard mode.

Oh and if you explore the nodes to the east, you can partake in something new which I reffer to as a "Land Based Air Attack Node" where you'll find an Airfeild Hime armed with these.

Abyssal Land Based Bombers
These new abyssal planes are different as they are more larger and can in some occasions land a heavy blow. But otherwise they're pretty trivial. There's also the stronger Ace Bomber version as well.
You're going to be fighting these just about anytime you meet an airfield hime in this event. So bring some Air Defense might be a good idea.
Your rank on these battles is dependent on how much damage you take. That's about it.

E-2 Operation Rei-Go: Revenge Against the Nerd
On this mission you're assigned to go to the Mindoro Island to attack the beach head where a Supply Depot rests.

This map features something new which I can reffer to is "Mutiple Starting Paths" The path you start on for this map is dependent on who you have.

The most important thing to note is that for Operation Rei-Go, bring Team Rei-Go "Kasumi, Ooyodo, Ashigara, Kiyoshimo, and Asashimo" along with one other ship (Aviation Cruiser it the best option to go with here) will automaticlly set you on the North Starting Path which is deemed to be the easier path to go.

I don't know much about the southern path, but I have heard it's manageable, just more intense compared to what Team Rei-Go" goes through.

The following is based on my routing taking Team Rei-Go:

You start off fighting subs which are mostly easy, followed up with a branching path which isn't hard to consider... (You go east)....then you fight a few surface ship fights, an Air Attack from land based planes, and then PT-Imp Groups which have been underfed slightly since the last event they're still annoying, but more manageable now.

Then finally you reach the supply Depot where you fight...

The Supply Depot Hime

As you probably know, the Supply Depot Hime is a Installation Type so for me: WG42s and Type 3 shells are a MUST for her. She's not very strong so the effects of the WG42s are actually noticable on her. As long as you have on DD (prefferable Kasumi) on Air Defense node and the rest of the team on offense. You should be able to pick her off. She comes with a few transports and DDs in tow.

The final kill however she get really peeved.

She becomes weaker in terms of HP, but stronger in her plane count and offensive strength. Along with that, she has 3 PT boats replace the DD ships from before hand. It's a manageable fight except you're more likely to have more trouble getting up to her than the fight with her.

The enemy fleets become tougher in route to the final kill and her fleet is also somewhat tough as well. She is however manageable... I had to resort to a boss suppot since I wanted her taken down in one go.... which is what happened....once I got to her.

Ashigara delivers the final kill upon her which ended this battle and with that...

Counter Attack Operation "Operation Rei-Go" is completed!

And so I earned the next Akizuki Air Defense DD - Hatsuzuki

Just like any other Air Defense DD, Hatsuzuki is going to have very high AA to help take down planes, which will make her role quite productive when combating planes. So she's worth training along with her sisters. Of course like all members of the Akizuki class she pocesses a 10cm HA gun + AA Director which are always useful to own!

Follwing the completion of this map you are unable to partake in the 3rd operation because you have to take care of two quests first:

1. Carry out Counter-Attack Operation "Operation Rei-go"
This one is straight forward... beat all Main Stage Operation Maps..... have that quest selected and it's done.

Then you have to do the following:

2. Partake in a "Friendly Ship Naval Review"
This is limited time expedition that a part of the event, upon completing Operation Rei-Go, you have to complete a new quest where you go and make contact with a foreign fleet from overseas. The expedition is #175 which is also called  "Friendly Ship Naval Review"
Send 6 ships of any choice and send them out... 15 minutes later, they should make contact with a forgiener and come back from thier expedition. Please be sure to have the quest on when doing this.

Once the expedition is done, the quest can be completed and you earn:

203mm / 53cm Double Gun Mount a gift from your "new foreign friend"

And finally...

Operation Sho-Go 4 is now open

Here's a fun note for you all

Operation Sho-Go 4 is a what if campaign as in this is a naval battle that never happened in WWII it's actually based more on a plan Japan developed in the event the American Navy advanced toward Hokkaido. Which as you know wasn't the case since they instead advanced into the Lefyt Gulf where the performed Operation Sho Go 1 instead. So this one is probably going to be much differnet in comparison to the usual "historic battles" we generally face in events.

Guess I'll prepare for E-3 now...

There is nothing more infuriating than having three CLTs plus Abukuma destroy half  the enemy fleet only to have the BB Hime OHKO Nagato... and then miss every other shot she makes.

I... I can't.

EDIT: And then on the next sortie, Nagato hit a weakened BB Hime for over 200 damage and we proceed to get a Perfect S on every node afterwards, save for the air node.

The RNG seems to enjoy absolute chaos.

Totaku you sure about there being DDs in E-2's boss node? I've only encountered PT boats (2-3 accompanied by 3-2 transports.) on that node in Hard.

You're right, did mean PT boats, they're somehow underwhelming up until final boss kill where they get more dangerous. Don't know why but they are. I still found the boss run the most stressful part of that map.

On a side note I went back to E-1 out of boredom and finally bagged these....

Can someone assess my readiness for E-3 Hard? Should I go back to Normal?

[attach=1]

As of this point, it's going to be dependent on what resources you have and how much you're willing to go through with it. You look decently prepared though if I may ask.... where's Kiso, and do you have Yamato or Musashi and if so are they decently trained Rune?

I'm probably not going to be too reliable on my account because... everything ended too quick for me to really say it was nothing more than a simple "luck of the draw"

E-3 - Operation Sho-Go 4: The Heavy Cruiser Parade and how Ooi crashed the whole party in one go

I'm am just going to say this..... I think I lucked out this run... this was probably the most ridiculous case of: I killed her without even trying approach. So to begin, lemme tell you about mah ship girls:

Transport Escort Fleet:
Main Fleet: Fusou, Yamashiro, Z1, Z3, Shiratsuyu and Harusame who got switched out periodically.

Escort Fleet: Abukuma, Haguro, Nachi, Yuudachi, Shigure, Akizuki

This group made the transport run rather trivial. All DDs in the main fleet hauled drums and Abukuma haulled a Daihatsu, while the escort fleet was on offense. Fusou and Yamashiro just came armed with Zunin 12s and thier main artillery.

This worked surprisingly well. Despite the fact I had to go through one extra node, it was not an important node since it was just Airfeild Hime Twins launching planes.

I think in all honesty, the sub nodes were more intimating that anything else since they came with golden So-classes in tow. Which have a good track record for wrecking a fleet even in line abreast.

The boss node itself has a a Destroyer Hime, 2 Chi Class Flagship tier Torpedo Cruisers, a Nu-class Flagship Light Carrier, and 2 Ha Class Late Model elites. Anytime the team made it there everything died there usually during the day fight or possibly by night battle. It never generally lasted too long.... I only had two goof ups in the whole transport run.

Main killing phase

Main Fleet: Yamato, Mutsu, Nagato, Kirishima, Chitose, Junyou

Escort Fleet: Abukuma, Kitakami, Ooi, Kiso, Shigure, Yukikaze (and Ushio as back up)

I used a Surface Assult Fleet since I expected the boss fleet to demonstrate some real power. And so I had a chance to take the north route, from what I could tell... you had the option to go East or South... I just took the shotest path which I considered to be South and stuck with it.

I had to fight first now had some DDs,1-2 light cruisers or a tsu-class elite, and what can be either 2 Battle Ship Himes or a Battleship Hime and 2 Ru-classes. Fight either goes smoothly or painfully, it's never easy to tell since Battleship himes can be quite abnoxious at times. Otherwise they are easy to pass by.

Then I dealt with a case of Twin or Triplet Airfeild Himes. Nothing an Ring Formation can't pass....

Finally I fought again a Ru- Brigade which consisted of 2 Ru-class (which can come in any combination between Ru Flagship or Ru-Kai), 2 Gold Trasnports, and 2 Late Model DD Elites. This fight was occasionally trivial as well and easily won. Which then led to the main fight.

Heavy Cruiser Hime
Heavy Cruiser Hime is kinda pretty self explanatory. She's tough and has a good mix between Offensive strength and torpedo strength. But she doesn't make the fight easy because she comes along with whole bunch of other powerful friends in tow....

I hope you don't mind seeing this on your visits. Cause you'll encounter this 50% of the time. The rest of the time it's this fleet without the CV Hime and instead a Tsu-class Light Cruiser Elite. This is a rather tough challenge since BB himes can tank and the CV Hime (if she's there) can do that and hit with decent accuracy.

In my surprise, I killed this group on the first go and low and behold!

Can't help but say, I'm glad the entire Summer Set is now complete... but the hunt continues.....

Either way this continues up till 14 runs. Around part way through it I use a boss support fleet cause I thought I needed some extra help. Turned out I was right... but I also may have made things.... too easy.

By the time I reach what I thought was the second to last kill I was fighting Double Battleship Himes in the first node and Double Ru-Kais in the pre-boss node....

Turns out... she was on her last leg.

Now basically have her, 2 BB Himes, 1 CV hime and 2 Ni-class DD LM Elites. That's her final formation.... which under normal circumstance is a gigantic pain in the arse.

But let's just say... I wasn't expecting it to be fina kill and the same time this happened..

Run one... that's all it took for me... I didn't even try... I had plans to switch out Kiso for Bismarck to add night battle power but.... I didn't even need to that. Ooi just snapped her like a twig.

It ended too quick (I wanted to hear her blood curtailing screams more) none the less I got rewards.

Two Medals, The Ro.43 Seaplane Scout, the Hardcore Medal and....

Zara-Class Heavy Cruiser Zara

Another Member of the Italian Family. Zara's main specialty is that her equipment has a long range putting her on part with the range of a battleship, however, she's also suffers from an accuracy loss in the process. So your milage may vary, but otherwise she's not that bad off and is a good member on the team to have non the less.

And so with that...

The Operation Rei-Go Event is now compete.... there's only two things left for me to do now.... let's hope they come as easily as the rest have done....

My resources are in fairly good shape. I'm sitting at 69k fuel, 56k ammo, 43k bauxite, and over 180k steel. I've barely scratched my resource stockpile mainly because I don't have much that I want to grind for this event. Amagi would be nice but.. eh... I have enough carriers already and the Cranes are still in the leveling queue. Kiso is also in the leveling queue, and I've had no luck with LSCing Yamato class. It took long enough to fish Bismarck out of there.

I beat E-2 Hard, so this is the first event where I scored two hard mode maps so far. I didn't have much trouble with this map. E-1 was harder because of how tanky the boss is. I went south route CDGKLMO with 4{f}BB{V}, 2CV kitted out with 330+ AS and everyone carried the best main guns, a seaplane (Kirishima had a night scout), and a sanshiki. Sub node usually ended up with scratch damage on a few, airfield nodes were not a problem, and the only threat is node G where you potentially face either Wo-Kai + gold Ta, or two told Ta's. In most cases the heavy fleet plus getting AS consistently on that node let me sail clear of that node without difficulty. The next nodes are a walk in the park: nothing more dangerous than Tsu-classes and with this event PT boats are easy to hit even with a full BB/CV team. In most of my runs that made it past Node G, we hit the boss at nearly full health. For the last kill:

[attach=1]

Support fleet was a carrier team that was all the big carriers who weren't in the main team. I think the change that made this team most effective was dropping Maya in favor of a 4th BB. With Maya, I had three ships that could do effective damage in night battle, but with a 4BB team, I had four, meaning the odds of completely disabling my NB team was less. Plus, there were no huge air threats on the entire map that warranted bringing a dedicated AACI ship with two carriers on the team, other than Wo-Kai, but Wo-Kai never gave me a lot of trouble.

Interesting drops were...

[attach=3]

A second Akashi. Now I can repair 5 ships at once.

[attach=2][attach=4]

Naganami and Asashimo.

This was a short event with no ship locking. I normally go Normal Mode all the way, but I figured this was going to be the best chance in a long time to get a First Class Medal. And that's what I did.

E-1: THE DEBUFF IS A MYTH. When Totaku posted that you could kill the transport at the Evil Mizuho node to weaken the SS Princess, I decided to see how many times it would take. I decided to kill the transport three times, attack the boss to check for a debuff, and repeat the process until the boss was defeated. 10k fuel/ammo, 40 buckets, 6 Evil Mizuho S-ranks, and 12 transport kills later, nothing happened other than beating the boss. If there is a debuff, it is not tied to transport kills or Evil Mizuho kills. Totaku would later apologize for posting unconfirmed rumors on here and the wiki. I understand that people make mistakes and all, but I want my resources back.

E-2: After making sacrifices for the sake of SCIENCE in E-1, I went through E-2 in a quick and economical fashion. Spent 7 sorties with Team Kasumi chipping down the bar (with 4 A-ranks and 2 S-ranks), then on the 8th sortie, finished off the boss with four Kongo sisters and two Cranes.

E-3: Not having Akitsumaru in Fall 2015 E-3 made the transport mission a pain. Having Akitsumaru this time around made it a breeze, with AS+ on the boss node making it easy to get the S-rank. I could even afford to have two DDs in the escort fleet carry improved ASW equips to increase dodge rate and decrease closing torpedoes in the two sub nodes. It took only 9 sorties to deplete the transport bar.

The actual boss kill was tough. I went with:

Nagato(98) / Mutsu(98) / Kongo(99) / Hiei(99) / Ryujo(133) / Junyo(91)
+ Abukuma(94) / Fubuki(120) / Kitakami(84) / Ooi(84) / Myoko(88) / Shigure(96).

Fubuki was swapped out for Ayanami(89) for the final kill, when cut-ins are more important than protection from planes.

All ship equipment was upgraded to +4 or +5.

Don't go through the sub node. Trust me, you would much rather go through Dyson and Ru Kai. I brought the house with both support expeditions the entire time, and for the final kill, all 24 ships sparkled. It took 16 sorties in all: 10 to deplete the bar (with two S-ranks), and 6 to get the final kill. After choking for most of the way, Shigure redeemed herself with a clutch cut-in to finish off CA Princess. I don't have Hotels, Pastas, or Bismarck, but it turns out you don't need them.

Total resource cost was around 30k fuel/ammo, 10k steel, 4k baux, and 200 buckets. I finished the event with 175k fuel/ammo, 155k steel/baux, and 1825 buckets. If you have 50k resources, 400 buckets, and Level 80+ ships, All Hard is certainly doable.

This is my first and only First Class Medal. I don't think I will ever beat an event on All Hard Mode again.

Well I'm going to say you're welcome to try Hard then if you like. You got enough strong battleship to attempt the map. But just keep in mind. In your case, I'm going to say have: 4BBs, 2 CVLs and Abukuma, Kitakami, Ooi, a FBB, and 2 DDs (prefferable torpedo cut in ones.) The rest comes down to how lucky your are. Also.. Boss support fleet is highly recommended ESPECIALLY on the last kill. Make sure to bring a searchlight for your FBB and the night scout.

If worse comes to worse drop to medium, you'll still have to deal with 2 BB himes, but it's manageable.

Beat the boss bar in E-3 Easy in six sorties, the only failed one being the first sortie I tried with Nagato getting OHKO'd. Decided to thrown in a support expedition for the last dance just in case and we ended with Kiso cutting in for the kill on Snek Hime and then Fubuki double tapping the remainder of the BB Hime's health away. This was the only time I actually had to go into night battle, so that was nice (but why is Nagato so squishy? ;>; )

Decided to farm Yahagi and Sakawa at E-1 next since I'm tired of trying to build the former.

Apparently, Thomas the Tank Engine isn't one to take crap from anyone.

That's it. I'm done. E3 Hard was more salt than I bargained for. Back to bucket farming for the real event in Spring.

Video Compilation:

Am I like the only one here who didn't suffer from the so call "E-3 struggle" in this group here? I mean I get the impression she was meant to be tough as nails, but some reason Ooi just killed her shockingly easy withing the first final kill attempt no less.

Anyways hunt wrap-up: I've bagged all the missing kanmusu. "The 4 eye'd Warrior" and the "Forgien Hunter" have now joined my ranks meaning I'm done farming for new Kanmusus.... I'm just left with Taihou again... which I will do once Kancolle Kai comes out.

Overall cost of event (Hunting included): 30k fuel, 27k ammo, 19k steel, 1k bauxite, and 300 buckets.

Anyways a load of stuff has come up over the last few days and I plan to cover them in detail soon, so please be patient. ^^;;

I promise, I'm still playing. I'm just.....semi-retired aside from events  :derp:.

However, I may perk up a lot more soon - pre-registration for the Kancolle Android client is scheduled for later this month. I am appropriately hyped.

Graf dropped from L node. So glad I didn't spend any additional time farming for her in Fall 2015's event.

[attach=1]

Depleted 1400 HP of her gauge today in 4 attempts with no retreats so far (used FCF once to send Fusou home after a solid shot from a Ru-class in Node L).  Hoping to be able to finish in the next few days.
