So lemme take a moment to do the images I forgot to do last update....
So as you all know this update has a very unique Kai Ni Highlight...
Shoukaku Kai Ni
For all those who worked real hard during the summer event to get that prototype flight deck catapult you should be able to get her Kai Ni'd on the spot! However if you haven't you'd going to have to go through a long a gauntlet of quests that were recently set up just to another on of these rare items. This may take somewhere betweem 4-7 days if you have all your ships needed at the ready.
In her regular Carrier state Shoukaku will have the following:
+Well balance plane output that can put her on par with Akagi and Kaga (27, 27, 27, 12)
+A plane capacity that almost on par to Akagi and Kaga (93 planes)
+More likely to benefit for air superiority
- Cannot fight when hit to moderate damage (outside of air raid phase)
- Cannot not use heavy / jet planes that'll be implemented in the future
Upon reaching level 88.... Shoukaku will be given the ability to change into Armored Carrier form.
Shoukaku Kai Ni (Armored Carrier form)
The Armored Carrier Form of Shoukaku has her own benefits making her good for combat and potentially will even be better in the future when more planes get released!
In this form, Shoukaku will be gain the following:
+ Has a very large plane slot (32)
+ Has higher Armor
+ Can fight even when moderately damaged
+ Will be able to use heavy planes / jet planes once they are released
+ More likely to benefit for offensive air attacks
- Has a relatively low plane capacity (73 planes)
- very low plane slots outside of the one mentioned above (21, 12, 9)
- Less likely to benefit with air superiority combat
The most fun part about Shoukaku's kai ni is that once she hits level 88,
Shoukaku can switch between regular Standard Carrier form and Armored Carrier form at any given time when you're at the base. This will however cost ammo, steel, and dev materials each time you do this and some of her stats will reset upon the change (and you'll have to rebuild them)
So it's recommended to plan ahead for Shoukaku and her Kai Ni since she has two forms with her own benefits.
