Ok guys it's time for me to give you all news on the update! So here's the update as it has been provided for the rainy monsoon season that Japan has been going through as of lately...

Rainy Season Update

   1. The Spring Event has ended.
        The Spring Event: The 11th Operation is over. Thanks to all who participated!

   2. Homeport Expansion
        The home port has been expanded allowing up to 250 kanmusu at home port. In addition, equipment storage has been expanded to hold 40 more pieces of equipment for a total of up to 1,100 piece of equipment. (IRL monies required as always)
   3. Akashi's Arsenal Update
        Akashi will now improve the Prototype 51cm Twin Cannon and 15.2cm Naval Gun using the appropriate kanmusu to assist. Additional 15.2 guns will become upgradable in later updates.
    4. Rainy Season Voice Lines Update
        In celebration of Shigure's 80th and Kongou's 100th launch anniversaries, 50 kanmusus have been given rainy season dialogue for a limited time.
    5. Furniture Updates
        Furniture Update 1/3; The following furniture has been implemented to celebrate the rainy season:
            Teru Teru Bozu Window [renewed furniture]
            Hydrangea Window [renewed furniture]
            Rainy-Season Wallpaper [NEW] Plays BGM "Thirtieth Destroyer Squadron, Anchors away!" (Spring 2015 Event theme song)
        Furniture Update 2/3; More frunitue has been added!
            Raincoat and umbrella hooks [NEW]
            Battleship Tile Floor [renewed furniture]
            Pedicel Carpet [renewed furniture]

   6. Naval Base Bar update
        The naval base bar has been enhanced to accommodate the recently enlisted kanmusu. Some kanmusu will favor (Italian Wine) while others will favor (combat rations). The content will appear and change based on the time and which kanmusu you add in as your secretary.
    7. Light Cruiser equipment adjustment update
        Light cruisers accuracy can now be affected based on the fitting of the equipment they use.
   8. Mogami voice update
        Mogami has been given new voice lines for her remodeled form. She will have new resupply and idle lines. Also, Mogami will be given hourlies.
   9. Takanami and Northern Princess Rainy Season update
        Takanami and Hoppo are now given rainy season graphics for this update.
  10. Bot and counter measures and misc.
        Extra securerty measures have been made to detect usage of bots and scripts.
        Kiso Kai Ni CG had recived a small graphical tweak.
    11. 3 million player wall scroll
        To celebrate reaching 3 million players, the 3 million player wall scroll is being given to everyone. It can be obtained the next time you log in.
    12. New Expeditions
        New expeditions [Northern route escort] and [Sea fly boat front line transport mission] added.

Rainy season Takanami

Still sucks that I got Takanami instead of Uzuki from all that rabbit hunting, but this actually makes it suck less.

Also, I saw on your stream that you have encountered Giordano's deep dish pizza in Chicago. My parents live in Chicago, so I go there a lot. I used to love Giordano's pizza when I was younger. One slice was more than enough for a meal, so we only got it when the whole family was together. Now that I'm old, my lactose intolerance has become severe enough that I can't have pizza with cheese anymore.

Anyway, I got my first S victory on 5-3 with the following team:

Lv. 71 Chokai K2 (20.3 cm #2 / OTO secondary / T22 S. Radar K4 / Searchlight)
Lv. 95 Fubuki K2 (10cm HA / 10cm HA + AAFD / T13 A. Radar Kai)
Lv. 73 Shigure K2 (QuadOxyTorp / QuadOxyTorp / Star Shell)
Lv. 69 Yudachi K2 (12.7cm TypeB / 12.7cm TypeB / T22 S. Radar)
Lv. 66 Hatsuharu K2 (10cm HA / 10cm HA / T13 A. Radar Kai)
Lv. 86 Sendai K2 (T3 Sonar / T3 Depth Charge / Night Scout)

I should have known that the way to win the night battle map of death was to go with the most lethal night battlers available, fully modernized and sparkled. No need for fast battleships, no need for aviation cruisers, no need for support expedition.

Now all I need is to get four more S victories to reach the rabbit paradise of 5-4. Someone on Duckie's stream said 5-4 is known as the "rabbit hole". Someone on reddit said they're "sick of all the Uzuki drops on 5-4". The people on the Kancolle wiki also recommend 5-4 as the best place to hunt rabbit. It is said that Uzuki drops more often in 5-4, and even appears on A-rank victories.

I'm comin' for ya, rabbit.

For kills #3-5, I actually replaced Hatsuharu with ASW Jintsu, to make sure that troll sub would die. For the final kill I also brought a boss support expedition. With that, I unlocked 5-4, the rabbit paradise.

My first run of 5-4 was with Tone / Hiei / Maya / Akagi / Kaga / Ryujo. It went smoothly. I got a day battle S victory on every node, even with Tone swapping out her usual equipment for four drum canisters.

The boss drop was Ryujo. Who is the most destroyer-like of all the carriers, and has the same voice actress as Uzuki, but is obviously not the real thing.

I wonder how many sorties it will take for rabbit to finally appear?

World 4-3. It has two sub nodes and with the right equipment your flag that you are training will always get MVP and gain 1k+ exp, and because it's at least two battles it doesn't take as much of a hit on your ship's morale.

The only downside is that the first node choice is entirely 50/50 RNG. You could either go straight into sub nodes, or get screwed over into node J which has a chance of a BB. Honestly for me though, I've never had too much of a problem with that node regardless so it's just an extra battle and exp for me in the end :V

Depleted the 5-4 boss lifebar in 5 sorties, getting an easy S victory every time. The boss node drops were Ryujo, Ryujo, Agano, Ryujo, and Hiei. When they said 5-4 would give me my heart's desire, they were right, from a certain point of view. Clearing 5-4 gives me access to 6-1 and 5-5.

But 6-1 requires Aircraft Carrying Submarines.

And 5-5, with a boss fleet containing Darth Carrier and the Remperor, is supposedly a Death Star with no weak points.

I guess I'm just gonna keep looking for rabbits in 5-4.

Been busy grinding 8 Maruyus to feeding level and MARISA MAYA-SAMA DA~ZE★! to Kai Ni. The pasta sisters eat a loooooooooooot and Littorio/Italia even talks about how she's getting fat lol. 10-15 Biscuit attempts failed already, no Nagamon or Yamato to make up for it either. I hope the parade of Kongou sisters ends.

Akatsuki and another CA are getting Kai Nis huh. Where's the Inazuma/Atago Kai Ni? When can I get to see this awesomeness in action? I refuse to use the Fusou sisters(for stupid reasons) so I hope Ise/Hyuuga get Kai Ni soon too. Rumors are the Cranes are getting their Kai Ni around summertime so Sixten will be happy.

Haven't posted for a while, so I hope it's not too late for a personal status update relevant to the Spring Event. In the end, I didn't manage to get U-511 or Takanami, but my E-1 and E-3 farming runs ultimately rewarded me with Amatsukaze, Tanikaze, Urakaze, Kumano, Suzuya, I-8 and... two Uzukis. Sorry, Sixten--if there was a shipgirl trading function I'd have sent the first over in a heartbeat after fulfilling the necessary quests. Oh well. Best of luck in your rabbit hunt!

I also allowed myself two post-Event commemorative LSCs: a Taihou attempt, and a Yamato attempt. The results were nothing really extraordinary, but I managed to get Hiryuu, so I'm not complaining too much. One day, Yamato and Taihou... one day.

However, my most important achievement is this:

Since its the slow after non-event grindy lull, now's a good time to ask about fave kanmusu of errybody and why they are your favorites. I love Ashigara, Musashi, and Tokitsukaze because their voices are AMAZING and I pick up all the glasses kanmusu because glasses are obviously the most effective equipment to send into battle. There's a glasses kanmusu for pretty much every ship class except the carriers. According to concept art of Shinano she may well be the only carrier who will have glasses. Kadokawa is probably going to keep Shinano in reserve for a while though...

Other than that I'm only missing Makigumo now who has a good chance of appearing 5-4! It's time to sss--ssss-s-s-s-ssuffering. I wanna find the dd dd there too, hehehe(Hamakaze).

I'm getting a huge fondness for Ooyodo and Haguro, because they're really cute.

What a long vigorous night, I managed to get through the largest hurdle pushing the update and content up. And I'm pretty impressed with how things went tonight

The Akatsuki Kai Ni Update

1. Akatsuki Kai Ni Upgrade

The remodel for Special Type 3 Destroyer Akatsiki Kai Ni has been implemented. She will require a rather high level (Level 70) to be upgraded. No blueprints are required!

2. Akashi's Improvement Arsenal Update

Akashi can now improve 15.2 twin gun mounts, 15.2 twin gun mount kai and search lights using the appropriate kanmusu for the task.

3.New Searchlight

The new large searchlight, Type 96 150cm searchlight, has been implemented; it can only be equipped by battleships but has higher effect in night battles compared to the already existing searchlight.

4. New quests

 A total of 4 new quests have been added in the game which include the following:

            Form the Maritime Assault Fleet
            Sortie a marine assault fleet
            Make the New 6th Destroyer Division
            Perform a Thorough Anti-Submarine Patrol with the 6th Destroyer Division

 5. Rainy Season CG Update for Shouhou

 The raining season continues, and Shouhou receives a rainy season time-limited CG wearing a kimono.

6.Rainy Season CG Update for Murasame

In addition to Shouhou, Murasame Kai will also receive a CG update for the rainy season for a limited time. The rainy season time-limited CG for all ships will last until late June.

7. User Interface Update
The user interface has been improved to allow equipment filtering based on improvement arsenal upgrades!

 8.Equipment Filtering
Equipment can be now filtered in the following order when changing equipment
            0: Normal
            1: Fighter plane
            2: Dive and torpedo bombers
            3: All other planes
            4: Main guns
            5: Secondary and anti-air guns
            6: Torpedo (including mini-sub)
            7: Anti-submarine equipment
            8: Other equipment
            9: Sort by improvement level (descending)
            10: Sort by improvement level (ascending)

 9.Misc changes
        Searchlight effect adjusted/added
        Improvement Arsenal's assistant ship display adjusted
        New pages added to the Collection
