Home safe and back at work. Heading south means we missed all winter weather lolol
Good things:
- Barcardi Gold
- Neon FM (surprisingly enjoyable[finally got to play Girlz Buttz{*clap*}])
- Seeing cool internet people
- Long overdue conversations with cool internet people
Bad things:
- Gosling's Black Seal 151 fuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuck
- Lack of inexpensive places to eat in walking distance
- Gaylord not having their shit together wrt paying for parking on Monday early afternoon
- Honestly, MAGFest in general
This was my first MAGFest and in all likelihood will also be my last. None of the panels interested me, I didn't care for nearly all the music/artists at the con, and I'm really not a gamer. It was cool to meet internet people but I could see them all at different anime cons. Of course, none of this is set in stone.
I wound up a fan of 3 bands I never expected to like, willfully damaged my hearing for MAXIMUM ROCK EXPERIENCE, played through probably 10 arcade games with both close friends and total strangers, went out for meals with a group of 6 or greater no less than 5 times, socialized with old acquaintances and brand new friends, drank some lolita, viewed some crazy indie games, got some plaudits for successfully managing the room situation, was awarded some props to my trapping skills for the first time ever, had my picture taken in costume with everyone from hardcore Touhou nerds to a pair of Muslim ladies with a kid in tow, got some awesome stuff that I always wanted, and came away with and something that'll net me a karma point from a friend, and got 600 streetpasses. :V. Hell, I even had a very normal non-threatening moment with someone I typically avoid for good reason. The only thing I didn't really enjoy was the funk emanating from the suite across the hall.
In your case, however, it's too bad that it didn't work out. But if it just wasn't your pace, no point in trying to make things fit.
