If I remember correctly, the Super Shimakaze was an improvement on the Shimakaze, and even if they were built, they would most probably be renamed. To put things simply, Super Shimakaze to Shimakaze is how Unryu is to Hiryu.

1. Hatsuharu is getting a Kai Ni remodel

So here are the notes regarding this update. This time we get lots of goodies and features along with Hatsuharu...

1. Kitakami and Ooi get new voices
Kitakami and Ooi get new resupply, idle, wedding (kari) and other HQ voices have been added
They will also get many new voices after refitting to CLT

2. Kitakami and Ooi new voices #2
After refitting to CLT, Kitakami and Ooi Kai/Kai2 get new hourly voices

3. DD Hatsuharu Kai2 implemented
Hatsuharu class Nameship Hatsuharu can now be refitted to Kai2 with high experience (Level 65)
New voices will be added at a later time

4. HQ size increase
HQ maximum size has been increased by 10 to 210 ships
Equipment max will also be raised by 40

5. New AP shell effects
Type 91 AP shell and a new AP shell being implemented today combined with large caliber main guns will increase damage and accuracy against large enemy ships with high armor and ground targets.
The effect can be increased with equipment combinations and balance

6. AP Shell additional info
- AP Shell bonuses will take effect during daytime combat
- AP Shell's bonuses will need the AP shell and a large caliber main gun equipped
- Equipment other than Main gun & AP shell may increase damage bonus from AP Shell

7. New missions added
Form the Second Battle Fleet *Single mission
Second Battle Fleet, sortie! *Single mission
To the south, surface fleet! *Monthly mission
These and two others will be added for a total of 5 new missions

8. The following new equipment have been implemented
- Type 1 AP Shell *Can be obtained through today's newly implemented mission
- Prototype 46cm Twin main gun
- Prototype Floatplane 'Shiun'
*These can be obtained through monthly ranking rewards and missions that will be added later

9. Equipment lock implemented
Important items can be locked
- Equipment can be locked in the equipment list
- Locked equipment can't be scrapped
- Kanmusu equipped with locked equipment can't be scrapped

10. Equipment lock additional info
- Locked planes cannot be used in the aircraft retraining mission
- Locked equipment will be lost if the kanmusu equipped with them is sunk

11. Rabaul and Shortland Servers have been improved

So yeah, we seem to be getting buffs to our AP ammo, along with equipment and new gear.

Also as for the Second Fleet Missions Quests:
You will need Nagato, Mutsu, Fusou and Yamashiro for that mission.

Also the fact we can now lock our equipment will definitely excite some!

The Autumn Event is set to start aroundMid-November and based on what the tweet reports, the event will be lighter compared to Operation AL/ MI. Expect a medium sized event for this time.

To top it all off, Combine Fleet Mechanics will return for the Autumn event!

And to make even more interesting.... the unlucky sister battleships that were once planned to be turned into Aviation Battleships Fusou and Yamashiro will be reciving a Kai 2 upgrade in time for the event! Thier upgrade will be based on a "what if senario" of if they survived the Sugaro Strait.

Better get your Aviation Battleship sisters ready, it looks like they just got lucky!

Well, keep in mind the term "Medium" was somewhat used loosely. It may reffer to the number of maps we will have to complete instead of the difficulty. Course, I don't expect an event map to have such a tremendous difficulty spike like E-1 and E-2 from AL. There's no way to tell till the fated day of the event. Just stock up and prepare for anything.

In the meantime, the tweets have acknowledge that the next update is set for 24th of October a day later from the usual update time.

To top it off, it seem what they have in mind will be to release the Fusou Sisters' Kai Nis out individually rather than at the same time. This update will be putting Fusou out first for upgrade. So she should take priority if you want to Kai 2 her. I'm going to assume her upgrade level will be between 75-80. Like most BBs.

My Fusou is currently at level 50.... she's got a ways to go....

Lvl 81 for all four of my BBVs thanks to 4-2.  Only thing that's going to stop me is a lack of blueprints, and you know they're going to be needing blueprints.  I used my last one on Tone after the Hatsuharu patch even though I knew I was going to regret it as soon as I did, but I thought adding a 3rd CAV to my fleet would be a good idea.  I still have 3-5 to beat this month (not a problem) and I've opened up 5-5 but I'm a bit worried about the cost of that one.  Finally got my ammo and fuel back up to 80k but I'd feel better if I broke 100k.  Steel and Bauxite sitting at a comfortable 170k/117k with buckets at 1440.
 
Hopefully the event decides to throw a couple medals our way.  If I can finish up everything this month and next I'll only need 2 more for a second blueprint.

I'm always a bit apprehensive when a ship I like is getting a Kai Ni but I can't really worry with a pic like that.  She's in my group of "DDs I like but can't justify leveling because there're too many" so most of her experience is racked up from 1-1 and Expeditions.  She's sitting at a comfortable 57 along with half the group (the rest are 58).
 
Just need to wait for her to come back from expedition, put her as flagship, and run 4-2 with Fuso and Yamashiro.

Oh wow, I really wasn't expecting this. It seems like when it comes to destroyers to Kai Ni, they've been picking the girls from my main expeditionary fleet, haha.

I think the event starts mid-November?  For the new system that's being implemented, I've seen talk of Equip-based LSC and/or a leveling system for equipment.  Personally I think the latter sounds pretty cool, but it might make the UI and managing equipment a bit hectic.

Well it's time for me to give you the news report on what this update has.... and boy this one is a big and complicated update for brace youselves as I give you a summary of what this update has to offer!

Fusou Kai 2 and Akashi's Armory Update!

1. Fusou Kai Ni is implemented!

Fusou is now available in Kai Ni form! She will require a VERY HIGH level (80) and a blueprint in order to upgrade!

2. Fusou gets new daialouge!

For her kai and Kai Ni form, Fusou gets additional daialouge. Her Kai comes with new resupplying lines, new ideal lines, new marriage lines while her Kai 2 comes with new home port lines!

3.New Quests have been added!

[Work hard to secure the supply line !] Weekly Quest
[ [Nishimura kantai] reassemble! ] One Time Quest
[ [Nishimura kantai] To the southern seas! ] One Time Quest
and others adding up to 6 new quests  have been added
Completing [ [Nishimura kantai] To the southern seas! ] will grant you a [medal]

4. Mid Cannon Buff

The Following cannon mounts have been buffed up

14cm/15.2cm single cannon
15cm dual sub cannon
15.2cm dual cannon
15.5cm triple sub cannon
20.3cm dual cannon (No2) (No3)
8cm high angle gun

5. Large Cannon Buff

The following large cannons have been buffed

・35.6cm dual cannon
・35.6cm dual cannon(Dazzle Camo)
・38cm dual cannon

6. Battleship Buff
The following battleships Kanmusu have recived the following buffs...

Nagato kai and Mutsu kai now have more max armor and luck now.
Ise kai and Hyuuga kai now have more max armor and an increased plane capacity.

7. Graphic Art Tweaks
The following Kanmusus received tweaks to thier damaged art

8. Akashi's Workshop
If you have Akashi, you can now place her in your first fleet and make her your secretary, by doing so, you'll gain access to the "Remodeling Workshop" (You will need to hover over construction for a few seconds to make it appear.

In this new menu, you can now enhance equipment!

9. Akashi's Workshop Info 1/3

The workshop will allow you to use equipments, resources, dev mats and new resource called "enhancement mateirals" (a screw) to enhance equipments,
Enhanced equipments will have a star★ on it. The less times it was enhanced, the higher success rate; the higher the times it was enhanced, the lower the success rate.

10. Akashi's Workshop Info 2/3

"Enhance materials" used in Remodel Workshop are obtained from quests and other ways. You can
trade it with medals
get it from new and old quests
trade it with furniture coins
more ways of getting it will be added later.

11. Akashi's Workshop Info 3/3

Equipment enhanced to the max level in Remodel Workshop can be upgraded into a better version of the equipment
The level of the equipment will be reduced to 0 stars after upgrading.
Upgraded version of an equipment obtained via Development will already have a level of 3stars.

12. Akashi now more openly avalaible for a limited time!

Akashi is now avalaible via drops in 1-5 and 2-5!
She will appear also within the event as well. So go ahead and get her!

13. Akashi Workshop ProTip (TM)

There will be different equipments available to be upgraded in everyday of the week!

The ship beside(ship number 2) Akashi could change the item list for upgrade!

Level of Akashi will change the success rate for upgrading

14. Server upgrade

Buin and Taui Taui servers have been improved
