3 mins in and Brasil's already falling apart again. That should've been an easy Red.

I didn't watch the game, but from what I heard/read, Brazil was shit the whole game: Felip?o tried several changes, nothing worked (even with Thiago Silva who was suspended back then). First penalty was bs but it probably wouldn't matter. At the end they went strategy-less in desperation for a goal and took another goal. 3-0 lol.

Tomorrow's the day. Go Germany!

Forum was borked when NL was playing.

So yea, we won 3rd place by defeating Brazil 3 to 0. Unfortunately Robben dived again for the first penalty. Sure, Silva slightly "held him back" but it was no big deal to actually drop to the floor. The game further more was frustrating to watch, especially because nothing really happened for a long while until the next goal finally hit. The crowd also turned their "backs" to Brazil by shouting, whistling and such. Must been quite bad feeling.

So yea various news sources are criticizing NL on their performance against Argentina. Not because of the boring match, but because of the changes. They say that if Persie was playing horrible, he could've easily played on so the last change would've been Krul, the penalty killer. Also the first penalty being taken by Ron Vlaar was worst choice ever. Vlaar might be great defender and did outstanding work, but he's just not a penalty shooter. Well, it is of course easy for the critics to speak. If NL would've won, nobody would've complained. Only the haters would've.

Good luck Germany and Argentina tonight. I'm not going to pick a team as I stay faithful to NL and NL lost, so there is no need for me to pick GER / ARG.

May the best team win.

Still, it should have been a foul with or without diving, since the rules only say about holding the opponent.  Making him fall is entirely optional.

It was an interesting match, I always approach those 3rd place playoffs with a lot of scepticism, but they usually turn out fine. As for tonight:

Other than my sympathy for Germany, and my antipathy towards Argentina for making the game a living hell for spectators, and the pure awesomeness of the German attacking formation, let's not forget that Argentina had one day less to rest and was forced to play 30 minutes more than Germany due to the extra times vs Switzerland and Netherlands.

HOW DID ARGENTINA NOT SCORE THERE?! O_O

EDIT : And an offside goal. Still 0-0.

EDIT 2 : And the wood saves Argentina from going down. Half time called : 0-0.

Not the best game, but not the worst. But that's probably just because Germany let Argentina have some good chances. Argentina isn't really generating play on their own so far.

Germany's left defender is far too slow and has a yellow card. Looks like a good candidate for a substitution. Except for some stupid errors by Germany, Argentina's chances are mostly due to Lavezzi/Messi charging down Germany's left flank. Some bad luck for Germany's midfield, too - first Khedira out right before the match, then Kramer brutally put out of the game by Garay. Not looking good.

Well. No shots on target by Argentina throughout the entire match, and Germany isn't much better. Still, the Germans are likely much less tired after their earlier games, so logic dictates that they will win. So they probably won't.
