I admit I gave this squad little/no chance of going though. I thought things were over when we gave up the equalizer to Ghana. I thought it was over when we did the same to Portugal. My heart could not stop beating the last 40+ minutes, needing help from Portugal and our inexperienced defense to keep us in it.

I thought we were done. I've never, ever been happier to be wrong.

Now to (likely) face the dark horses named Belgium.  :ohdear:

If you say so; I trust your judgement better than mine. I admit 2014 Mexico is more like '12 and not '13 Mexico, but I have confidence the Netherlands can handle them.

Honestly I found the USA - Germany game to be pretty boring, and the other one much more intense (Ghana was looking quite good until that godawful mistake when Ronaldo scored), but still, congratulations to all the USA supporters. I mostly like them because of Klinsmann, but still, I sympathize.

Algeria - Russia is the clear pick for today's second game to watch. With the kind of attitude and creativity they displayed against Korea, I fully expect the Algerians to beat Russia and get into the top 16.

Typical American behaviour. Getting cocky when things miraculously go well. IT IS ON BRO. From this point on, every country for themselves. No patty cakes. No hugging. No care bearing. See you in the semi-finals.

lolSuarez got banned for 9 matches, starting with the next match.

What a moron.

Half right.

Ura can choose to appeal the decision; in which case the punishment is delayed from what I heard; meaning he can play.

Of course; when the appeal is overturned; it will almost certainly slam down a harsher punishment.

Also he's banned from ALL football for 4 months. Including non-international.

I don't even remember who put the above in my sig. [Wasn't me] Nor do I understand why I keep it here anymore.
Those two facts sum me up pretty well.

He actually deserved longer ban. Critics say FIFA went easy.

Yay! I love it when underdogs succeed in sports. Costa Rica and now Algeria are two very nice surprises of this World Cup and I'm happy for them. It was rather amusing to watch the Russians leisurely stroll around the pitch for pretty much the entire match. It's like they weren't even trying.

You know, somehow I am hoping Brazil to lose. Though it seems it is going to be a penalty game at this rate. FFFFFF.
