That said, I saw the highlights this morning and they were downright comical. Makes me feel even worse that we didn't kick Portugal out in the qualifiers when we totally could have - we were even leading in one of our matches.

noone can expect a goal 94:30 minutes into the game, but I was glad that I didn't go to bed, it was a good game.

Lets wait and see what the German vs USA. Wait like a sitting duck:

8 minutes left to leave from work to home. Good, because the common cold is pissing me off. My nose is like the Niagara falls. 68 minutes remaining for the game! I'll watch the game in awe then hit the pillows early to regenerate.

Time to get wrecked Chile.

Speaking of Chile, any Chile supporters here?

Man Chile's playstyle was pretty boring and lame:
- Chile ball possession? > drive NL back to their own half and play around the ball pretending to be some kind of tiki taka.
- NL ball possession? > mass def like Greece
- Robben the ball? > Attack Robben with 4 Chile. Apply grabbing, tackling or some kind of form to stop.

Except Chile tired towards end of 2nd half and NL changed 3 players, who were fast and tall. So yea, that is how you get goals. Also that Robben's pass was supreme.

Croatia vs Mexico's a great, flowing game so far. Really like the way both teams are playing.

EDIT: 3-1. Way better game than NL vs Chile.

How many people should i sacrifice to which god for that outcome?  ::) (if you give us first place in the group, i'll even add a dozen or so virgins  :])

Joking aside, i don't give Italy many chances today..... even tho we just need a draw Cavani/Suarez will have a field day with our defense -__-

Ironically enough the injury of De Rossi will be beneficial, since it forced our "great" coach to go back to 3-5-2, reverting at least 3 players to their natural position and finally giving Balotelli a partner (Balotelli is way too overhyped by media..... in a pair of forwards he is quite good, but alone he is not Batistuta or Toni, he can't shoulder the entire attack by himself)

On a different note, i'm really curious to see how far Belgium will go.... they have a good team and play well and there are some people even talking about them being a possible contender for the title. Personally i don't think that is possible THIS year, but if they keep improving maybe in 2018 they might be.

(Mexico is good too, their problem is the Shinkansen Netherlands  :V )

I don't blame Suarez. I often get a bit peckish during matches myself.

Just watching Suarez get hungry and biting the Italian player was hilarious. He didn't even have any reason to do it. He even injured his teeth in the act.

....I am honestly DISGUSTED.

1) disgusted at our team for managing to get sent home 2 World Cups in a row in the Group part
2) disgusted at that red card
3) disgusted at Suarez's bite
4) disgusted at the people in the stadium for actually booing the italian team when they protested the red card and the bite
5) disgusted at Fifa (but that is normal)

I had low hopes of passing the turn, and our play wasn't anything to write home, but the RIDICULOUSNESS of that red card and the booing really angered me....

As of now, i don't care who wins the cup, as long as is an european team. I want to hear the entire stadium SILENT, and i want to see the faces of those idiotic supporters when they realize they lost on their home turf.

An advice to the referee: don't visit Italy. We tend to keep grudges for a long time if they concern soccer. Ask Byron Moreno if you don't believe me: FIVE YEARS after the infamous Italy-South Korea match the police had to intervene to stop a mob from punching his lights out in the streets when someone recognized him....

EDIT: i almost forgot, there probably was also a penalty in favor of Uruguay..... World-class referees in this competition, Fifa... WELL DONE >_>

Is... is that a prop bet over the odds of Suarez biting someone at the WC? If so that's glorious.

I find it interesting that the odds weren't even that high. Some bookmakers offer similar odds for a "Uruguay to win the World Cup" outright bet.

Scratch that, I mistook odds for the stake. Sorry.
