Actually, something like Germany-USA 2-0, Ghana-Portugal 1-0 would be enough to put Ghana ahead of USA. The goal differential differential is only 2 right now. Portugal is already a lost cause.

Disappointed but not concerned. Deutschland and the USA got the same number of points from the same opponents, and even though Deutschland's victory over Portugal looks might impressive, it was done against an even worse Ronaldo and 10 men for 55 minutes after Pepe got send off. The only reasonable way that the US is eliminated is if both Deutschland and Ghana win and one of them wins by more than one goal, and I see better results than that happening.

Netherlands won't be playing with their strongest team. There might be a chance Chile will win this. Persie is by default not on the field due to a 2-yellow-card penalty. Robben might be taking a break as well. Schnijder will be debuting alon with Kuyt and another one.

Why is Google saying that the matches for this evening will be on the same station?
We have ARD and ZDF showing the games but it says "ARD" for both games though. I doubt that. Well, I'll stream both and be happy

USA are now in a situation similar to Italy: if they draw the last match they will pass anyway, problem is the opponent might be out for blood (Uruguay because they need to win, Germany because they are here to destroy everyone, and a win-draw-draw isn't exactly triumphant)

And now for something completely different but quite hilarious: AND IF THE QUALIFICATIONS WERE DECIDED BY A COIN TOSS?

No, i'm not drunk, there actually are more than one possibility that it will come to pass! Official ruling of the World Cup says that the coin toss will be used if 2 teams have:

- same points
- same goal difference
- same number of goals scored
- same points in the direct match
- same goal difference in the direct match
- same number of goals scored in the direct match

And guess what? There are even FIVE groups were this might happen! even BRAZIL might be caught in this! (and it would be bloody hilarious if they were eliminated by a literal coin toss!)

Brazil-Camerun 0-2
Croatia-Mexico 3-2
Coin toss between Brazil and Mexico with Croatia first

GROUP C

Japan-Colombia 2-1
Greece-Cote D'Ivoire 3-0
Coin toss between Japan and Greece with Colombia first

GROUP F

Iran-Bosnia 1-0
Argentina-Nigeria 1-0
Coin toss between Nigeria and Iran with Argentina first (AND THIS ONE IS QUITE POSSIBLE!)

GROUP G (2 possibilities!)

1)
USA-Germany 2-0
Portugal-Ghana 0-3
Coin toss between Germany and Ghana with USA first

2)
USA-Germany 0-3
Portugal-Ghana 2-0
Coin toss between Portugal and USA with Germany first

Very unlikely but not unheard of:
World Cup 1990: coin toss between Ireland and Netherlands. Ireland wins but Netherland still pass as best of third places.
Euro Cup 1968: coin toss between Russia and Italy to decide WHO GOES ON TO THE FINAL! (there were no penalties at that time) Italy wins

And with how this World Cup have played out till now this could REALLY come to pass :3

Eh? This sounds like they just want the Group A matches to be more accessible to Brazilians. What effect does it have on the next stage?

Knock-out tree being filled in differently. Your position on the tree is extremely dependant on the position of your own group + expected position of upcoming matches. Since NL plays first, a lot of teams can anticipate their position. BR was suppose to play first, but intentionally put to 2nd because NL vs BR is currently a high outcome and seems FIFA is granting them the advantage of eliciting this information after NL has played.
