Author Topic: NFL Playoffs 2013/14! (Also Vic won fantasy but no one cares PLAYOFF FOOTBALL) (Read 80658 times)

(For some reason Yahoo found it pertinent to open fantasy football signups in May this year.)

We're back for Year 2! Twice the excitement! Twice the experience! Twice the intensity! Twice the number of warnings not to accept any of Edible's trade offers because he's trying to fleece you! The Ghostly Field Club's human GPS took home the gold last year. Are back-to-back titles written in the stars? Will Buddhism strongarm its way to a championship some could argue should have happened last year? Or will a dark horse arise from somewhere else, like Gradius or Ohtori Academy or even PX's QB-deficient aviary? And, perhaps most important of all, with Tebow go in the second round again?

I'm making this thread now because why not (though I need to renew the league - that'll happen in a couple of hours). Let's gauge this year's interest! I'm hoping for at least 10 this time, if not 12. If you like football but aren't familiar with fantasy, ask some questions and we'll be glad to answer them.

OPPORTUNITY KNOCKS! Since Yahoo opened up signups so early, we have the chance to follow in the footsteps of the RPGDL fantasy leagues and do an offline draft right here in this thread. It takes a while and is susceptible to training camp injuries (hi Arian Foster), but it guarantees everyone gets to take part. What say ye?

Count me in, but I'd prefer a regular snake draft sometime during late preseason. There's no real point in drafting until rosters are solidified, imo.

Edit: I'm not actually opposed to doing a draft in here, just stating my preferences.

It will be a snake daft regardless, so that aspect at least is not a concern.

I can do either style and do not plan on pushing hard for the offline draft. I figured it was worth mentioning just in case.

(Fun fact: my one and only RPGDL offline draft was two years ago, and I took Ryan Williams the day before he blew out his knee. I got stuck with Beanie Wells as comp. The saga never ends with me and those two. <_<)

He was my 4th RB, so it wasn't a huge loss. It was more amusingly annoying than anything else.

I will admit I was set to jump off the Larry Fitz wagon, but stupidass Carson Palmer has convinced me to stick with him for one more year.

Okay, I've renewed the league.

Due to the way invites work in terms of taking up manager spots, I only sent them to people I was fairly confident would rejoin (Edible, PX, Vic, TSO, yuyukos, Zirene). Arashi and Drunk Aya, you are both more than welcome to play again if you wish, I just didn't want to seal off a manager spot in case either of you didn't feel like returning.

If Kerigis wants to rejoin he has to write a 500-word-minimum essay about where he disappeared to last season and why it won't happen again this season. <_<

If anyone that didn't get an invite, be they Arashi, Drunk Aya, or a new person, wants to join, post saying so and provide an e-mail address and I'll sent you an invite!
