I've been watching new episodes with a group for the last five or six, and that one got the most applause/people standing up and yelling at the TV than any of those.

It's interesting that the ending is basically the middle of the "next chapter" after "The Wall" in the manga. I guess, that was the best way to wrap it up. And it really works.

The people I've been watching with didn't get together two weeks ago, so we watched the last two episodes last Saturday. They were fine, but they weren't a huge hit. A lot of it hinged on the "big reveal", which wasn't so much of a reveal at this point. Some stuff happened, but I think less stuff than we were hoping. I found the ending slightly underwhelming, at least.

Does someone know if there will be a second season of the anime, and when it will be released? The thing is that I don't follow the manga at all... I've tried to read a couple chapters from the first volume, but I just prefer the anime because I think it transfers more "emotion".

If there will be really a second season, then I hope it won't take too long for it to start, since I'm excited to see what will happen next.

To be fair, it looked as if Eren was about to defeat Reiner before Bertholdt dropped onto them. Annie's probably the strongest of all the titan shifters so Eren looked much weaker in comparison to her. Eren's still an excellent weapon against any titan that isn't sentient.

Actually now that you mention it Annie probably is the strongest. I just assumed she was the weakest since she's so much smaller than Colossal Titan and Armored Titan and they're established as being such a big deal early on, but they're kind of underwhelming now that we see them up close and Eren has more training/powers. Not only is there potential to replace him now, but there are apparently a lot of titans who are smart enough to take him out, which makes him a lot less valuable.
