IntroductionI have quite a few albums, and it's time to organize them.
MainEach folder contains the tracks, a cover picture and a textfile with comprehensive information. Some will also contain extras like scans, lyrics.
The following pictures give examples:
folders:basic folder contents:tags (Winamp v5.581):textfile:I?ll start by posting a textfile (two or so in a week), leave it up a few days for additions, reviews and corrections.
Details, Reasoning, TechnicalitiesFolder names: [<year>].<month>-<day>.<event> - [<artist group or artist>] <official album name> [<catalogue no.>] -<encoder>-
// It's a sorting after date of release, I like chronology. Regarding names that only have kanji, I am going to add a romaji name behind the <kanji name> for recognizability purposes. I use this
kanji->romaji translator and
this one as last resort if there's no correct translation found elsewhere.
Track names: <track no.>. <artist> - <track name>.mp3
// I put artist in front of the tracks, because they have a higher recognizability factor than tracks in most cases. There'll be no kanji-romaji translater here.
Any lossless files will be converted to mp3 with ?-V(2-0) -q0 --new-vbr?. Existing mp3s of greater quality will not be reconverted, even 320kb/s.
Mp3 Tagging:

TagScanner for tagging. It has Unicode support and some nice batch rename options.

Source Tracks
<track. no>. <initials of games/album>-<track no.> <boss/stage theme>(, <character?s theme>): <tracks name>
Last Update: <date of last update>
// <musical genre> will contain 3-5 words describing the music genre and which instruments are predominantly heard. <notes> will contain information like Comiket 70 or Reitaisai 03. This and <date of release> will kinda serve search functions when a master list is compiled.
I will mainly get my information from
http://www16.atwiki.jp/toho and
http://www.jv44.info/cddb/cd.php .
The whole purpose of the textfile is giving information and acknowledging the source while I modify poorly tagged files, that?s why ?source file?, ?original website? and ?more information? are important to me. ?Source file? is also important for you to know what album I am talking about, if you happen to have it in your collection and don?t know what to do with it.
No Insurance YetI'm not done with this project yet. Just taking a really long unplanned break, I don't know when I will post something again.LegendYellow = On taarp.pestermom.
Italic = Contains scans.
Red = Mixed album.
Rating2? - grating
