Being from Canadaland, any kind of "entertainment" on XBL is pointless. (24/7 HD tv/movies/sports/etc? Bitch I have 40GB/month and usage based billing. And prehistoric speed and reliab--- *CONNECTION TIMEOUT*)

Only thing I found interesting from the Microsoft conference1 was the South Park game.

1 which I had to watch in 240p

I can only go on Tuesday and Wednesday this time.  Having midterms on the same week as E3 is not cool.  Hopefully I can pickup more steam codes this year to give away.

Watching the Microsoft thing on Spike TV now, I missed Halo 4 but I caught some of Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. It looks awesome and I want it. :3c Halo 4 is also interesting, moreso for the multiplayer campaign that's not a Firefight iteration, it's actually episodic co-op stuff on top of the regular MP deathmatch and whatnot. This, I like.

I'm probably glad I missed the Usher performance, though. What were they thinking? *@_@

* quickly closes articles; reads up more on Computex, Win8 tablet lineups, iOS 6 features, and CS: GO release date

Yep, that's E3 all right. Can't even consider this press conference half-seriously these past few years.

Has there been anything that isn't a sequel/carbon-copy of something that already exists so far, or something that doesn't involve integrating social networks into games and treating it like a main feature? I'm not watching simply because hearing the headlines is disappointing enough :/

To be fair I was reading about Sim City in PC Gamer and frankly it sounds fucking amazing.  The big change is the complete overhauling of how the city functions - instead of the game autocalculating how well any given thing should be doing it actually accounts for individual people (and their needs), the flow of power [and where its sources are coming from], etc etc - basically creating a very real city.  And most of the social aspects apparently allow your city to connect to neighbouring cities - and this can create a weird ecosystem where aspects of cities can flow into others, but needs from different cities can be met elsewhere, and it all sounds great.

Also yes, South Park: The Stick of Truth is probably the best thing I've seen so far.

ALSO ALSO: Nintendo has three conferences this year.

One was yesterday, actually, and was a very short show detailing how the WiiU works and its essentially Spotpass-esque "constantly connected" features, plus changes to the controller etc.
Tomorrow morning's show will be ENTIRELY WiiU content
And then Wednesday Evening will be another show, entirely 3DS.

Yeah, looking forward to South Park.

And a conference dedicated to just 3DS? What? I know they're coming out with good games and all, but something tells me not everyone will be interested...Until they see FE13 that is. :P I dunno. I'm cautiously optimistic about this.

They're releasing two SimCities, one is a facebook app with SOCIAL SOCIAL SOCIAL and the other is the incredible awesome one.
Their conference pretty much treated the awesome one as secondary to the social one.

Ready to throw away my 3DS if they don't mention anything about Paper Mario. ^u^

Halo 4 and South Park: The Stick of Truth were a few of the only good things that Microsoft had to offer.
I missed EA's Press Conference. Did they have anything good?
Ubisoft, on the other hand, had ASSASSIN'S CREED III AND RAYMAN LEGENDS.

E3 is fucking depressing. I'll check everything once it's over and the good stuff has been pulled out of the crap.

Best news from game industry today aside from CS: GO.

And yet it's still too reliant on cinematics (game industry really strives to emulate movies it seems :\), cover-based combat, and quite greyish colours. Plus it seems like they took a lot of cues from nearby Eidos Montr?al :V
