Affinity is on the short list of players I'd trust with a bastard mod game, so

Considering that by the new rules I need my set-up approved and my role-pm's ready to go ere HW's game begins, I am requesting an experienced reviewer at this time.  IHNN is presently serving as Co-Mod and is helping.

I have written all of one role PM knowing that the game is bastard and may very well need extensive balance.

PM me if interested.

Not that I'm much help for balance  :V

This does remind me that I'll need mine reviewed at some point as well (and a co-mod would help too but neither are imminent)

How useful would an automatic votecount Excel spreadsheet be?  As in, put in who each person is currently voting for and it outputs a votecount ready to be copy-pasted in.  I put one together for use in this game, and if it would be useful I can make a more generalized version for use in, well, any game.

If the input is wrong then the votecount will be wrong though, it just makes the process less tedious  :V

and I thought co-mods do votecounts anyways, at least that's what I think I've seen.

I would suggest everyone in the current game add a custom title and personal text (if they haven't already) to make Control-F'ing slightly more feasible.

So for those of you who don't know, I made a pseudo-automated votecount generator in Microsoft Excel for ease of use in this game.  It worked very well, made mine and Affinity's jobs a lot easier.  Now that I've modified it to work with 16 players max instead of 13, it can conceivably be used for any game run on this site.

Please alert me to any bugs found, instructions are in the first page of the spreadsheet.

Just dropping an idea I had:
Since LaL is practically never implemented, I thought of a way to sort-of make it possible even in the current meta. Include a second lynch for D1 and maybe D2 where the players can decide to lynch one of the two or three people with the least posts (not counting confirmation phase); no-lynch being an option even if no lynch is not allowed for the regular lynch. No additional nightkill if the lurker lynch happens.
Alternatively, include one or two vigs that can shoot someone based on least amount of posts.
This would obviously need some tweaking for balance & amount of players and some more thought put into the exact implementation, but I think it could work and might over time change the meta, if only because lurking would now actually be punished.

If you're referring to the prod system in Shadoweh's game, then that doesn't have the effect this is aiming for. We had a two prod = modkill system in Affinity's game, too.
And while that works to guarantee at least a certain degree of participation, there's still no punishment if you just barely make it.
With what I'm proposing, there's always an incentive to post more if you're among the players with the least amount of posts.

That raises issues in regards to the quantity and/or quality of posts though.

I think Tar and Feather should have been used freely (disabled during LYLO). If people think ____ is posting just enough to bypass prods but is barely playing at all, they can lash at them anyway.

Dormio: It sure does. We currently do lynch active lurkers, though, which covers one end. And I like to think we'd start lynching people that try to respond to this by making several posts with next to no content instead of one post with not much content, too.
There's also possible tweaks like only counting posts with at least, say, 20 words for this.

BT: That raises the issue of who can be tarred and feathered, though. This is not supposed to give town two freely decidable lynches on who they think is the most likely to be scum, but rather the option to prune those players that contribute the least amount of content and are hard to read as a result of this, without town getting the punishment of a nightkill for it.
The main problem with LaL is that it's only effective over multiple games as long as town is roughly as likely to lurk as scum. If the punishment for killing lurkers is significantly reduced, the strategy becomes much more viable.
