Conq: I think that's a good thing. Cop's an unfair role: No matter how well Mafia play, a lucky shot-in-the-dark can unveil them. How fair is that?
Don't get me wrong; I dislike cop roles because they're basically impossible to use incorrectly - any chump with a role pm can take a shot in the dark and come up with a useful result with little to no negative consequence. But then we're getting into the discussion of why we're using power roles in the first place. Is it just "for fun" or to "spice things up", or is it to give one faction an advantage they need to make up for inherent advantages the other faction has (which is why some people espouse 2-11 Mountainous as "balanced", why the
White Flag setup is seen as "balanced", etc)?
That said, this situation is a little different because :open setup: means there's the issue of confirmable townies and the lot. I suppose my opposition to a "secret miller" is more a visceral reaction as a player than anything else. I don't mind effectively gutting the cop if that's what we're trying to do.
Cut by Edible coming up with a creative solution. Pho is indeed delicious.
Also Dan, 2 (sane) cops in 13p with no scum rb/framer/gf is not balanced; I think you're quoting your source wrong.
