>On second thought, bring the box. Bring the little guy's home with us.
>Track the scent.
>You decide to dart back into the room and pick up the box to bring with you. Though you can't rightly see how such a box could ever be expected to hold a mouse. It doesn't even have a lid; any mouse could be up and over in half a second. Still, maybe he'll feel more comfortable if you have it?
>You return to the corridor and track the scent as it leads left and then right, following the hallway as it detours around the cargo shaft. This section of the hall is bare of doors for most of its length, though you can see one open doorway at the far end before the hall turns right once more. The trail seems to lead up to this doorway, and it isn't hard to guess why, as you follow it inside.
>You are in what appears to be the ship's mess hall. It is a modest-sized space, though proportional to the vessel, decorated in the same subdued style of the hallways. A pair of long rectangular wooden tables flank the length of the space with low benches running alongside them. The room is divided by a counter and half-wall past the end of the tables, to your right. You can see some metal cookware hung against the far wall beyond the counter; that's probably the kitchen back there. Beyond that, you can make out hints of another door, currently closed. Directly across from you is an open doorway, probably connected to the hallway running along the opposite side of the ship. The room is currently empty.
