Welp. My SCIENCE has concluded. Results are mixed, but not too good. :ohdear:
In short, the empty chest glitch still persists. I think I've isolated an issue that seems to trigger it: the actual saving/loading of the schematics themselves (in-game, by use of WorldEdit). The glitch doesn't always trigger, and most times, it transfers some of the contents of the chest. This means that we're taking a gamble with the items whenever we save/load schematics. Everything else is intact. (well, except signs too)
There is a workaround to this, but it just makes things harder. If I were to use just //copy and //paste, then it seems that chest contents transfer fine. Well, at least a seemingly higher success rate. What this means is I would have to make the copy/paste on the fly.. and in terms of Sparda's & Cadmas' areas, traveling between the old and new worlds for each copy/paste session. I cannot guarantee 100% success, but at least it gives some hope.
Alternatively, I have thought about bringing the owner into the old world and letting them "stock up" on whatever they want to keep before the transfer. I'm still debating the feasibility of this route, but it would guarantee that people wouldn't lose their cherished possessions like rare Enchanted stuff. If anything, I'd limit the amount of supply trips so that the process doesn't take forever. Seriously, who wants to spend time transferring 42 chests of cobblestone? :V We'll see if this option should come into play if the previous copy/paste option doesn't quite work right.
I wish I had better news, but we have to play the hand we're dealt.. The only hope I have left will have to be put into actual practice when we reopen. Oh, and if anyone wants me to import any of the old schematics (from before the Full-Release), then their items are as good as lost. Sorry, I can't really do much more.
Stuffman, feel free to open the server to everyone at your leisure. All I need by then is access to those two worlds.
