> You keep a grip on Kouyoshi's shoulders as she walks into the center of town, towards the well. As the two of you near it, you think you hear the whispering again.
> Kouyoshi's ears perk up, and she stops walking to look around for the source of the sound. She takes a few steps forward, and you can see the bat thing again. It's sitting up against the well with a small puddle of blood around it, but there's no doubt that it's not the bat's blood. You see its ears twitching occassionally as it shifts its wings into a more comfortable position, the horrible thing.
> When it takes notice of Kouyoshi, it lets out a harsh cackling sound.
> You can't see Kouyoshi's face from where you are, but you can't imagine she'd be happy right now.
> "Looks like you were right about the bat," she says to you. Her next choice of words is directed at the bat itself, and in a demanding voice.
> "Well? How much more of your ilk is here?"
