DDC Vsync and Separate English Patch?

 I've noticed that there is no vsync patch for or executable English file (like all the past Eng. patches, not thcrap) for DDC.
 Since I've started playing with the vsync patch (man am i glad i found it, kinda amazing) DDC is unplayable. I know that the person who made all the vsync patches has been inactive since 2011 (hasn't posted on his twitter since then), but maybe someone on this forum might be able to fix that?
Also, the only English patch for DDC available right now is thcrap. It works just fine, but its a bit unconventional and its not possible to use with a vpatch (as far as i know, maybe someone will find a workaround or NL will fix that).

I've seen a topic before floating around about a proper DDC English Patch. I know the TouhouWiki guys did write a proper translation, but the people behind the thpatch haven't updated their thing to the proper translation (which I think they did before), and nobody's been willing to code a proper patch for the better English translation.

At least that's what I remember. I can't really find the topic now myself now that I go look for it.

Setting the input latency in the options to "Fast" instead of "Automatic" may help with the input lag. It seemed to work for me.

The thpatch translation is supposed to be actually editable on their own wiki, though not having any significant knowledge of other languages myself, I've never looked into the process. I heard their system was supposed to allow fixing errors without downloading an entirely new patch, which would've been nice, but they never actually finished any patch except DDC's.

(As for the info about the profile, you should have already seen that in the rules forum-- "If you have less than 10 posts look here"...)

Just compare it to TD's custom_e, the options are in same place.

I thought a screenshot might be potentially more useful.

Though as Jirachi said, the setting window is basically the same as in previous games, from SA onward actually. (There is the minor difference that DDC has a checkbox instead of a button for full-screen since it allows full-screen above 640x480 resolution, but that's all.)

Not so sure if its just placebo, but i think that it worked.  Just managed to capture Koto Music "Social Upheaval Koto Music Complement"!

Well, that solves one problem (i think), but what about the english patch? Honestly, if i would do it myself i could. Does anyone know how it is that they're made?

If you really wanted to bother with translation stuff, you could probably fix the thcrap translation with the good one so that everyone will love you forever, but  I dunno how any of that works (or if there's some stupid politics between them preventing it).

It would at the very least solve all the complaints about the lack of a good translation being usable.

Is it just a matter of replacing thcrap wiki translation with one from touhouwiki? The files are easily changeable as I can see so I guess there is no technical problem to do that.

Well, I'm sure there's some retarded political factor in there or else someone else might have done it already, but I digress.
I wouldn't know anything about it anyway. Maybe bother their IRC channel or something before you do it.

The only problem I see is that thcrap has the plaintext endings to the game in plain sight (which a lot of people think is wrong), whereas you won't find the ending translations at all on thwiki, aside from summaries.

While i would like for the better translation to be used, i'm not talking about just replacing the translation files, im talking about making a thXXe.exe style patch. Sorry about that double post though, i suppose i should have a read of all the rules before i do anything dumb.

I wonder if the replay archive will ever support DDC replays so we can stop uploading them as TD replays, which is very silly.

You might want to try bugging touhouwiki's IRC channel if that's your game. Or maybe someone else will come along who actually knows something about the patches.

I'm probably the last person to know about this kind of stuff, but I like seeing people trying to improve the translation tools available.

I think that's about as likely as gensokyo.org creating another English patch. It is the same site.

Now I'm wondering if ISC replays will be uploadable at all, considering that it's a different gameplay system...
