Welcome to the Let's Stream thread, and just in time for the holidays too. There aren't a whole lot of rules here - you can do whole playthroughs of games, have quick matches here and there, co-op games with others, or even anything unrelated to video games (They just happen to be the most popular choice)! The only limit is YOUR IMAGINATION.

Some FAQ for people unfamiliar with streaming.

What is a stream?

It is a means of live broadcasting video to the internet. Most of the time, streaming refers to playing video games live on the internet, though you aren't restricted to said stipulations. There are a bunch of sites for this; the most notable being Twitch (http://www.twitch.tv/). Hitbox (http://www.hitbox.tv/) is another option that is used here and there, and had appeared after Twitch put a large delay between the user's computer and the stream (I believe since then, it's been fixed, though I cannot confirm).

How do I stream?

You can download free software such as XSplit and OBS, which will enable you to stream to various sites (also for free). Scroll down a bit further, and you'll see a guide for setting up your stream.

Is there a place where I can see a list of people who stream regularly?

Said list will be here. If you wish to be added to the list, feel free to place a link to your stream.

So does the stream have to be all high-quality, serious LP business?

Of course not! This is a place to perform tasks on the internet, where you don't have the constraints of having your own thread, and keeping said thread full of content.

That said, people will have critiques, so don't get all pissy when it happens.

Can I stream movies with friends and post it here?

Absolutely not. We'd likely be diving into some serious copyright infringement if that were the case. If you want to stream movies, keep it off this forum.

Hey, I've got an ides for the thread and...

Let me know, knock yourself out. This thread is mainly for people to get the word out that they're streaming but you're more than welcome to comment and discuss streams or ideas about streaming. The only limit is YOUR IMAGINATION again.

I have so many questions!!!

Ask them here too. Even though I am no expert onto streaming, someone else might be, and could further assist you.

This thread is actually a really good idea. We already have collections of Friend-codes, Steam ids, etc. but not this.

Yeah I noticed that there was no stream thread, so I simply made one.

Oh, and because I forgot to mention it at the time, I stream some Touhou here and there, but mostly a rhythm game called Osu! and occasionally trying out Battletoads at different emulated speeds. I may also decide to stream whatever I feel like sometimes. No real schedule here.

FYI to those who uses Steam. You can now Stream/Live Broadcast using the new Stream feature of Steam Beta Client.

I'm going to be playing more Touhou Puppet Performance.

For those who don't know that means:
You can only catch the first encounter of an area
If it faints it's dead

There may be occasional breaks for me to screenshot things for the purposes of documentation of the run; but if you guys wanna watch; stream will be up in a min or two.

Shooting for Partner status, so im sadly at the whimsy of whats popular right now. But, I play it all, from the niche to the popular; from the request to the spur of the moment. We even have some degree of professionalism!  :V

I actually just got about 3-4 hours of the Banner Saga played for a friend; and we had a lot of fun! We're doing a Vampire the Mascarade Stream on Thursday at Noon next.

ALSO if you have an Nvidia 550ti or better (sorry, no AMD/ATi or mobile users D:) you can use ShadowPlay to stream directly to Twitch with absolutely no lag or CPU usage, it's amazing!

Forgot to put this up here two days ago when I started; so I'll fling this up now...

Currently doing a run through of Pokemon Red, with a few challenges slapped on for good measure; to make my experience a bit more challenging than normal. The aim? Beat TPP to the Elite 4; and hopefully be crowned champion at the end of it. If you want to see it, feel free to pop over to here :

So last time we did Vampire, we played a pretty decent Tremere guy. Wasnt afraid of anythin and fought for both humanity and chantry  :V

Today, we're playing immoral monsters that fleshcraft things because its funny to watch humans writhe in agony as we fundamentally change their body structure. Because lol.  :derp:

X-COM Long War beta 15 was released today and I think I will give it a legitimate go. I'm a relatively newbish Commander having only the Classic EU and EW victories. I got through about September of Long War beta 14 before I tired out on the campaign; a campaign I save-scummed quite a bit which ruined the experience for me. This upcoming run will have no save scumming, but I will do a Normal difficulty, Dynamic Mode run which will mean a shorter game so I don't burn out on it.

I'll probably create a new thread for this if people want to throw in their names as soldiers and I can provide basic summaries for those who don't want to watch the Twitch VODs.

And I also play quite a bit of Hearthstone and Diablo 3 so I might stream those as well.

But last night, I failed to beat Touhou 4, beat Touhou 3 in one go, managed to crash T-98 NEXT, and had to go on YouTube to watch a subtitled ending. Next up: the Windows games. With less crashing. That said, I'll do a stream tomorrow, at 6 PM UTC (slightly less than 24 hours from now). For my first stream I'll do something interesting - Rosenkreuzstilette! Will try to pull off an "almost buster-only" 1CC. And yes, it's my first stream, so don't be harsh if I screw anything up, even though I tried to prepare as much as I could. Don't expect HD quality, plus my spoken English is pretty rusty, but I'm finally streaming, and that's a start. Please treat me nicely, as they say.

I'll be focussing on Unreal Tournament. No not the latest one, but the classic UT with BunnyTrack.

TL DR: BunnyTrack is an obstacle course within UT. Goal is to reach the end of the map.

The mode can be played as the player desires:
- Reaching the end with the use of checkpoints (training)
- Reaching the finish without check points (capture)
- Time attack
- Competitive:  x VS x   race to finish

Don't have an exact schedule yet, so for now will announce the stream moments in advance.

I wanna use this to stream my screenshotting session of my let's play, but it's kinda too late since my GoS LP is on the last stage. Oh well, I'll just stream the last stage and final boss instead.

My GoS stream will begin 10 minutes after I posted this.
