Title: Anime Spring 2012 Preview
Post by: Grand Octopus on February 23, 2012, 07:53:58 PM

Holy crap that's a lot of shows. Not a bad season overall, with points of interest being:

Tasogare Otome x Amnesia - Ghost moe.
Nazo no Kanojo X Mysterious Girlfriend X - Scissors moe.
Sankarea - Zombie moe.
Accel World - Black Snow moe.
Hyouka - KyoMoe.

CUT OFF POINT FOR THE GOOD STUFF

Sengoku Collection - hhnnnggzawa / Mamiko moe.
Zetman -  No moe hhnnnggzawa moe.
Eureka 7 AO - IFO moe.
Medaka Box - Twin moe mounds.

Lots of maybes, including Uchuu Kyoudai, Jormungand, Acchi Kocchi, Haiyore! Nyaruko-san and Natsuiro no Kiseki. Phi Brain 2 / Kore wa Zombie 2 if the prequels are any good. Only skimmed the bottom bit but I saw an unaired Mirai Nikki ep which is cool.

Upotte!! getting an anime could actually be a legitimate contender for the worst thing ever.

WTF is Thomas the Tank Engine doing there?

Really? The concept sounds hilarious. I want to see assault rifles anthropomorphized as high school girls!

Unless it's one of those cute lil' eps they like to tack onto the last five minutes of most Mirai Nikki eps.

Personally, I'm really looking forward to Sankarea and ... yeah, think that's about the only one I've decided I must watch. Hiiro no Kakera and Shining Hearts look pretty cool, though.  This current season I hated the line up, and ended up following seven series, so who knows?

Probably gonna watch Upotte!!, Jormungand, Kore wa Zombie 2, Acchi Kocchi, Sankarea, Medaka Box, Nazo no Kanojo X, Accel World, Yamato and Strike Witches.

Might watch Nyaruko, but that's up in the air.

Also, wasn't Yamato supposed to be a TV series instead of a movie?

Whoa, Nadia is getting remastered? Niiiiice.

Fate/Zero part two; that should please some people. For my part I still need to watch part one :<

YESSSSSSSSSS Strike Witches movie. :*

I'm sorry, were there other things on that list? I didn't even notice
Yes, you missed the Kobato and Rurouni Kenshin OAVs. Repent, heathen scum.

I don't think I care about any of the series for next season. Maybe I'll just watch old things instead, if anything at all.

Yeah, I thought so too. Then I read the manga and recoiled in horror as my hopes were shot to pieces.

^ I'd rather read that pun 50 times over than pick up the manga again. I'm exaggerating but it was still pretty terrible.

I thought the same thing. It's like Stuffman had a thing for guns

Hm. But hey, who knows, it's possible the final result isn't horrible

Really looking forward to Eureka 7 AO, might give Medaka Box a shot depending on my free time. Probably will give Train Hero a cursory glance because it sounds like it's going to turn into a glorious mess from what I know of Pat Lee's previous work.

...also, Beyblade's still a thing ? Really?

I'll watch Sankarea and Tasogare to see how well they do the adaptation, I enjoyed both of their respective mangas.
Upotte, what the fuck am i looking at
I'll watch Zombie Desk Car, if only for the name.
I'll definitely watch Eureka 7 AO.
The others I might give a shot, see what happens.

...also, Beyblade's still a thing ? Really?

There's a Beyblade tournament happening at my college on Saturday.

Interesting that Nadia is getting a remaster.  That basketball show is based on some decent shonen.  Thomas in Japan has a rather disturbing face... now I can't stop laughing.  Eureka sequel? Oh right, the manga was shorter than the anime.  Tasogare is based on a good read.  Iffy on Sankrea, but probably won't be bad.  What the Cthulhu?! Medaka decent shonen plus the Gainax effect.  Train Hero could possibly be amazing.  Zetman is pretty badass.  Accel, based on a neat read, the protag being hefty is fairly unusual.  Mysterious X, will be interested on how it's done.  Side-Saki gives reason to look at original.  What is Kobato about again?  It sounds familiar...

Shiba Inuko-san already has a headstart in popularity due to narrating the advertisements on Nico channel.

Also really curious about Thomas.

Lastly, really, really looking forward to Saki 2. More Mahjong! Zawa... zawa...
