I also learned this through trial-and-error.

But goddamn, it's a pain constantly restarting to get a blindfold.

I was hoping for a potion of restore ability from the faucet, since my Strength had been flushed down the toilet by a fountain and a box trap. What I got was completely useless (see: attributes). :<

EDIT: This is what's frustrating about not wanting to put on unidentified amulets and boots.

That's actually still fairly early game. Once you get telepathy that score shouldn't be too hard to beat.

Something I found out after asking some questions of people: you can't pay a shopkeeper while blind if you don't have telepathy.

Looks like I'll be praying for food for a while.  :X
