Maybe, I need to plan out what side story I'm doing next.

Problem with a 'Young Yuuka' is that I'd need to create a supporting cast, especially since Yuuka pre-dates Gensokyo, as she is an ancient Youkai.

Well, we know Yukari would have likely been around, possibly as a young little scamp herself.
And for all we know, Mima could have been around as a non-spirit. And we know Shinki was probably doing stuff back then too.

Except because we're not limited to Gensokyo... they could be anywhere in the world. Cooking up something like 'Adventures of Young Yuuka' would take a while, and frankly with my University Workload it would slow things down even more.

That said there's a few other characters that might be useable. Like Human Byakuren, and of course the Deva, and the underground races, like Satori [Species, not character]

Which is the main reason why I said the next quest will be slower-paced. Come Mid-November I simply won't be able to manage two fast-paced quests like I have been doing. One faster paced quest and another slower one is probably fine.

There's also something like using Yuyuko, or Satori herself.

For example, Yuyuko gets bored, and decides to leave Hakugyoukurou to mess with more people than just Youmu in order to alleviate that boredom.

I wouldn't imagine Satori around when Yuuka was young.

As for Yuyuko? She's be more sane than she is now back then, because her mental state is because she's been forgetting things over her 1,000+ years of being dead. Although newly-deceased Yuyuko could be interesting to use, I would see her as pretty much a totally different character, far less eccentric.

Just to put into context, if we're looking at 'Young' Yuuka, I'm thinking 1,000+ years ago. There's enough characters known to be 1,000+, like Byakuren and Yuyuko [Kinda]. The Taoist crew I think were around back then too.

Oh yes, there's always the option of other characters. However personally I don't think Satori is that interesting to GM [Plus Stuffman will be doing it *soon* in Purplequest anyway and why should we have 2 Satori Quests?]. Yuyuko is always a viable choice, as are most characters.

It kinda depends on the tone of the quest you guys want. If you want something more serious [Say, Young Yuuka], or some light-hearted fun [Which a Yuyuko Quest would more likely fall under]

And then there's things that could fall either way. I could see, say, a Nue Quest falling into either Silly/Fun or Serious.

Basically, a mini-Yuuka, but childish, inquisitive, kinda like early Rumia Quest's Rumia. I'll have to see if I can dig up the pool again sometime and PM it to ya.

When I thought 'Young Yuuka' I was still thinking Adult, just... young, not even 100 yet. She'd be less evil than present Yuuka, but still not 'good'.

Well, could do a young adult version. Kinda like she's just getting into things, but is more brash and impulsive than she's shown to be, somewhat like Marisa.
(Which would raise amusing implications for Spark-users like her.)

I'd love a Satori Quest, personally (the one there was wasn't very interesting, IMO), or a Nue Quest (Purvis' was far too serious for me).
