Title: High School Musical 3 Video Review (FINISHED, fixed DL link)
Post by: KomeijiKoishi on September 28, 2009, 02:04:18 PM
Update (27. 3. 2010): Yes, I finally managed to finish this bastard of a review, with the help of a way better video editing program and not going to much in detail I completed my 27 minutes review. I'm going to upload it in 1 - 2 days.
Don't expect something too good, I'm neither Doug Walker nor Noah Antwiler.

EDIT (AGAIN): Download link: http://www.megaupload.com/?d=JJOT9HSO

Thanks to Alice.

Original text of the post:

Thought that this is the best place to ask...

I'm going to do a video project in Nostalgia-Critic-style for English class and I don't know which of three movies I should review. I thought of either "Twilight", "High School Musical 3" or "Dragonball Evolution". If you have a better idea, tell me.
I don't wanna ask my class, because I've got 19 females out of 27 in total and most of them actually like "Twilight" and "HSM" (Twilight?  OK, even though it's still horrible, but HSM? -.-)

Pick Twilight and tell everyone how fucking terrible it was :V

And we've got only 6 guys out of 30 people in my class.....used to be out of 33 8)

Twilight.  DB Evolution will find its niche as a nerdy cult classic on the next incarnation of MST3K.  It has an excuse.  Twilight DOESN'T.

How can you even properly review those pathetic choices?
If you take your homework as a joke on a fine Sunday afternoon, yeah, but this is... ugh.

How about Donnie Darko, The Shining, Pulp Fiction, Saw, or just generally something else...

It's gonna be a parody review.

Actually, you should look at HSM from a Marxist class-warfare perspective and explain it as a serious interpretation of Leninist modernism.  Speak of the coming proletarian uprising as a certainty and explain how HSM invites that revolutionary movement to hasten.

Enter to the Internationale and exit to the Soviet national anthem.

Also, since this is not the Classroom, you should take my suggestions as actual fact.

I don't know much about Lenin and Russian history in general, but let me try to understand this.

I should explain why HSM has the power to invade millions of stupid teens with their bad acting, horrible songs and cliché stories of Communism and will grow bigger and bigger until it controls our lives.

Or just like NC did with Surf Ninjas. Not talking actual bad about it, but kinda say it anyway.

Oh parody... I see, then how about Borat?

You can always enter a lot of racial stereotype arguments that give your argument the shiny edges.

That or Bruno, which has also Sacha Baron Cohen in it.

I decided to review "Alvin and the Chipmunks". Not completely horrible, but not that good either.

Dude. The Wickerman. Please do it. It's way worse than any of those! And you get to see Nicholas Cage punch old women whilst wearing a bear costume, and get mauled by bees 8D

Manos isn't too bad if you watch the MST3K version of it.

NECROMANCY

Well anyway, I finally started working on the review, at the time having ca. 5 minutes of the video finished. Question is: Are there people interested in taking a sneak peak?

So true..but how does a cliche ridden movie spark a uprising of the proletariat and subsequently the workingman's revolution? Especially one targeted at pre-teens and those who
are most likely to follow the capitalist ways that they have been instituted in. Considering that paying to see the movie is supporting capitalism. The movie itself is capitalist how can it's message be communist?

I don't do the entire Communist thing. I just mock on the movie and have fun with it.

And, oh, by the way:

The first seven minutes of the review. "Enjoy" my terrible attempt at it.

Successfully downloaded the four parts of the volume, and then...

:o

I'm going to try downloading part three again, but since it is exactly the same size as part 1 and part 2 and didn't error during the download, I doubt that this will help.

Well, we'll see...

...nope, didn't work. Redownloading part 4 didn't help, either, so unless someone else downloads it and gets it to work properly I am afraid that the splitting process didn't go smoothly and the files you uploaded are truly damaged.  :ohdear:

Same error in the same spot.

Someone else go download it, else I'll have to consider that the files are okay and it is my computer that is screwing up here...

The weird thing is that when I am trying to unpack it, it doesn't have any problems at all. I moved the parts to another directory and it still worked. Looks like I have to look for a filesharing site which takes a 330 MB video file without having to split it...

Yes!  :D

Wow, that must've been alot of work.

Despite some flaws, well, what can I say? That was genuinely funny, especially
sudden Antwiler
and
everybody dancing to Cosmic Mind.
. That was so wrong and yet so fitting.  :V

Though I would've shortened the
other random touhou segments, especially the second.
I think it lasts a little too long so that it goes from confusion to laughter and then past that to slight irriation. At least it probably would've for the people in class who don't get the reference, which I assume means upwards of 50%.

Oh, and your accent, yyyyeeeah, you know...  :V

Having taken a sort-of-media-class myself and having seen the quality of most of what was accomplished there, I assume hommade projects to be bad unless proven otherwise.
In my opinion, you have proven otherwise. Shure, not TGWTG standard, but pretty entertaining nontheless.

*salute*

Hmmmm, I wonder... considering that I have a very bad memory when it comes to people... have we met? You do seem familiar somehow... :/

Wenn du im Umkreis Stuttgart lebst, ist das sehr wahrscheinlich. Einen Blick auf meinen Nicknamen zu werfen könnte auch als Gedächtnisstütze dienen.

Otherwise, thanks. I'm going to shorten
the Cirno part
a bit. Also, it could be that it turned out so well because I'm writing MSTings for over a year...
Maybe I AM going to do Twilight next... MAYBE.

It was a good effort and I can definitely see you took a lot from Doug Walker. Which is a good thing. I still believe you should stick to references everyone can get for maximum comical effect.

As for the accent it was good, and I doubt anyone can say a lot about that because if English is not your native language it'll take years of 24/7 English life to disguise it. I've heard people with much worse accents than his and I also will never fool anyone into thinking I'm a native speaker.

Good work, keep going!  :D
