Well since there's a Resident Artist++++ title to recognize esteemed artists in the community, could there possibly be such a title for authors that post quality fanfics in the Scarlet Library? I think it would be a nice way to recognize people that especially masterful with words. :V

I like this idea. Even if we're sticking to TSO's 'no more tags' rule, we should at least offer them RA.
As for the semantics - would the award be handed out by Ruro? The Librarians? On public request?
-
<--- Resident African Resident
You already have Librarian and Spechul at your disposal. Resident Artist is hardly defined in what earns it. Resident anything is equally subjective.
-
While we did have the idea before, I can't really say if it's necessary to have an extra tag for it. As it is now, people who want their writing awarded with a prize have that chance every two weeks with the Writing Challenge.
But the best reward writers can get is really that people read their stories and comment on them.
I wouldn't be against giving RA to really outstanding writers though, if that is wished for. I don't really see it as necessary though, and frankly, we have too many good writers that would somewhat deserve it.
You already have Librarian
Not really. Librarians are like Godmothers. You don't hand Godmother to the ones playing the games, do you? :P
-
Hey, writing is artistic as well, isn't it? :P
I wouldn't be opposed to a new tag exclusively for authors, though.
-
Purv got Godmother for being the GM he is of the text adventures.
-
While that may be true, Librarians have an actual job, and that is the fanworks listing. Wouldn't want to punish people with more work when they are good writers. :3
I refuse to consider Librarian as a prize for stuff.
I'll talk with the PSL group about this topic though, so we can see what the people in question even think of the idea.
-
Librarian is not a prize, it is a job.
-
For the sake of fairness, I'd be opposed to any more specific tags than Resident Artist given out, for the sake of fairness and shying away from tag oversaturization. After all, if authors get a special tag, then why not musicians? Painters? Sculptors? Etcetera. Even danmakufu scriptors can be considered artists in their own right.
-
No, Resident Artist is good enough. No more tags please. And yes, Librarian is a job not a bragging title (like Godmother).
-
And I think Purvis was given Godmother due to his Paranoia game requiring lots of hidden PM messages, and the old restriction on how many of those could be kept.
