How much time do you guys think it will take for HM to be translated? Besides everyone's story modes and the whole menus, there's also the fact that the way HM's programmed is different from all other games. I bet it'll take two months.

Huh that's strange, I recall doing Makai Lunatic. And the Normal screenshots have disappeared (and I can't really back those ones up with videos that obviously don't exist) so yeah. Brb fixing that.

We may need to reverse the scoreboard seeing as the lower your score, the better you did.  :V
So by that logic, the Battle Garegga scoreboard needs to be changed so that the ALL scores that are lower should be higher ranked than the better scoring ones. Regardless, it should be fairly obvious to anybody who has played the game before knows that a lower score gives you less wriggle room.

First of all, nearly all the screenshots and videos posted earlier in this thread seem to be missing from the first post.

Anyway, scoring on lower difficulties in this game is actually harder than on Lunatic. You don't get as many lives to use for bombs in the early stages, and it's not as easy to suicide without breaking the chain. Especially on Easy where the only ways to die to a stage are being hit by the orb itself or running out of time.

Easy - Jigoku
Karisa - 10,819,100 - C - Screenshot

Easy - Makai
Karisa - 10,528,250 - C - Screen1 Screen2
Changed screenshot format here because I thought the high score list was the only one that listed the route. Upon comparing screenshots (can't read Japanese), the other result page does indeed list the route, but the rest of the screenshots here will have the top 10 screenshot instead... well, that page might be better anyway since it includes my name in it, though there is the downside that if the entire top 10 is over 10 million, there's no indication that any of the scores are over 10 million.

And the rest of these are just some quick 9m runs since the existing top scores were so low and I didn't feel like putting the same amount of time into reaching 10m on three nearly identical difficulties. I'm hoping posting these will encourage someone to surpass them and give this game more competition.

Yeah, most of the screenshots are missing from up there. And somehow the link to my old score is broken or something. (Actually, iirc, I checked it once and linked me to something about geometry.) Anyway, I felt like doing something less shmupy, and somehow wound up playing this. This run actually ended at Sariel, but when I retried and cleared the game, my score came out lower anyway (as you can see in the screenshot). Had some horrendous luck in the early rounds but didn't want to bother restarting.

I don't know if I want to go all out on this game now, but I'm considering it. There is unfortunately a great deal of luck involved.

Improved it a bit. I keep messing up the late stages.

Lunatic - Makai

13 million, huzzah! I should record any future runs, if possible.

Lunatic - Jigoku
Zil - 13,446,135 - ALL - Screenshot

First "satisfactory" run. I might try to beat generalguy/firestormiv's run, seeing as Jigoku should theoretically score higher than that pretty easily. So luck dependent though. If I got desperate, I could always... milk the stages. Haha.

Lunatic - Jigoku
Zil - 13,824,670 - ALL - Replay

Yes! Replay is on its way. And I like the Jigoku route. It's much more fun than Makai. And this is actually a decent game, despite the bombs breaking it so much. Not sure if I'll want to go for 14m ever, since any further improvements would basically depend on pure luck (or the patience of a saint).

I agree, the Jigoku route is more fun. It also seems to be noticeably easier to reach 13m in. I got this rather quickly, after several hours of not managing to reproduce my Makai 13m from a while ago.

I didn't think my score was that good, and then I checked here... not bad for a first 1cc. Though Kikuri is still one of my least favorite bosses of all time. It's a pretty luck-driven fight.

Easy was interesting. It's so hard to suicide that I ended up doing a lot of stages the way you're "supposed" to. I should try a no-bomb run sometime.

And I guess this is the better screenshot to use, since it includes the player's name, though I guess there's the issue of the first digit being cut off. That second place score in the Normal screenshot is actually 10 million lower than the first one. Hopefully it's obvious that I didn't beat the game with only a million points.

Only 2, 6, 8, and 11 I guess. It felt like a lot, seeing as normally I bomb every stage. Granted I could probably bomb 11 without running out of bombs, seeing as you can freely suicide in 13.

Easy - Jigoku
Zil - 11,380,800 - C - Screenshot

Luck was pretty good in this run. Stage 19 did end with the last point item inches away from Reimu's head though, so I guess that cold have been about 60k more. Whatever those things are worth.

Video for this one because I felt like showing a new stage 17 strategy I found by accident. I think it's more reliable. Also stage 18 was a bit more interesting than usual. Unfortunately I lost the point item chain in stage 19.

Hard - Jigoku
Karisa - 11,365,460 - C - Screenshot
This was unexpected. Lost 100k from bad luck with the teleporter in stage 9, and stage 19 ended before I could collect the last point item, but everything else went very well.

The seemingly pointless deaths and bombs at the end gave me ~4000 points worth of canceled bullets... which it seems actually made the difference between reaching 1st place or not. I seriously didn't expect that; it was just an experiment to see how much the extra bullet canceling would be worth on Lunatic.

Wow. Higher than any of the low difficulty Jigoku scores. I missed a few tiles in stage 16, but I think everything else was chained completely. What's nice about the Makai route is that there's only one stage (8 I think) with teleporters, so there's a lot less luck involved.

Normal - Makai
Zil - 11,412,100 - C - Screenshot

Stage 8 was awful, everything else was chained perfectly.

Also, any advice on how to bomb Makai stage 17? I still haven't managed to learn that.

No video, unfortunately. I if remember right, aside from chaining almost every tile, I managed to get an unusually long chain of items in the early stages. I found a way of doing stage 4 that lets you get every item.

For 17 I initially hit the orb to the right, bomb, then hit it right twice more, and then it should keep returning to the same spot after you hit it, so you can bomb again. Then if you hit it left it should go to the left side. I'll try to get another video up.
